Don’t know if it’s true but a mate who lived in Balsall Common told me when Robbie Keane was here he got a chauffeur driven limo to pick him up for training cos he couldn’t drive.

I remember years ago when the club had an opening thing for the shop on the Gallagher retain park. Afterwards I saw Jordan Clarke get into a brand new BMW 4X4. We were L1 at this time, at Sixfields. I did wonder at the time how players at our level could afford such luxury cars. If reports are true and pretty ordinary players like Binks are on £30K a week, then we really are fucked.
I doubt very much he's on that, I'd be surprised if he's on any more than half of that

If you’re on even £2k a week and living at home with your parents as a young Cov based footballer a new BMW probably isn’t out of your reach TBF.

I saw O’Hare driving an Audi A3 a year or two ago which surprised me, thought he’d have been in something fancier than that.

Didn't Mifsud want a new jag and ended up leaving because they wouldn't give him one?

He did want a knew Jag yes when he first got here. He turned up with his agent to the Coventry dealer and said he wanted a free Xk - who do we need to contact

Think that is what was reported when he was on loan here as well.

It’s from the same website that says Tavares earns more than MVE

The moral of the story for any professional footballer is don't be greedy like Mifsud was.

Jaguar offered Dublin very good terms on a car but he actually purchased his own

Sat alongside Jamie Allen on the A444 roundabout traffic lights before one of the Christmas games. Bobby Thomas was in the passenger seat.

It was a Porsche Macan in a horrible dark green which was similar to our training tops this season

Where is _alan when we finally need him? Probably in an Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse but his knowledge of R8s and Bentleys btw the mean streets of Kenilworth and players’ rentals in Kersley (always assume the poster @KersleyDigs is a reference to this) would have been invaluable here.

Having worked in German dealerships they used to have sponsorship deals for famous people from either the sports world or pop and film industries. Merc used to charge a peppercorn lease payment that covered everything, the only thing stopping you was insurance limits so lots of younger players used to drive A and C class cars for £125 a month. Its product placement for the brands as well as registrations. Lots of players higher up the food chain who could afford the luxury sports brands used to get the cars for their wife's and immediate family on the schemes.

there was a thing with man utd and chevvy where they wanted as part of the sponsorship players to drive their cars, but i dont think the players wanted to drive them, apart from the academy players wanted to drive corvettes, but the coaches/manager would let them get such a powerful car...

Wasn't Daewoo rebranded as Chevrolet in the end?

A lot of these players don't actually buy cars.. there are brokers for players who get good lease deals or cheap purchase options as they rotate their cars so often. Even though they earn a lot more than most people that actually pay a lot less for their cars.
