The only thing this thread is missing, is someone suggesting Robins has deliberately played that team to make a point to Doug about not getting more transfers done in january.
That’s you subtly making just that suggestion.

Sacrifice an FA Cup quater final?

Wright and Saka on the bench if needed. Strong enough defence. Let's see how it goes before we cry our eyes out.
The point is we’re playing Maidstone United and I get that we need to respect any opposition but the rotated squad should still win that game comfortably so I’d rather not sacrifice a league game that a win puts us back in a highly contested top 6.

For the people moaning about the lineup - this is why you might want to consider resting first choice wingers like Sakamoto against lower league opposition in the Cup
So we should have gone out of the cup to prioritise a midweek away game in league that won't decide anything?

Think he's chosen right personally

Obviously mindful of their attacking strength down their right flank so Dasilva in front of Bidwell to offer some support.

They usually play a back 3 of late, Bali Mumba is a very good , attack minded RWB & with Whittaker on the right of a front 3 they would likely cause us problems 2v1 in that area.

I'm going to curse this, but if I were Robins I would actually be targeting Mumba if he plays later. He's looked poor every time I've seen him, and hasn't provided much end product this season playing in a higher position. He was previously frequently at full back, but hasn't been playing as that this season. If for whatever reason he does come on and play in that position though, put Wright or Sakamoto on to run at him.

After watching this game at Wembley I couldn't believe how stand-out bad he was. Bolton can thank the fact he played that day.

We won 6-2! It was not an especially close game.

It’s not as simple as saying if Sakamoto was rested against Oxford then he could start tonight, but if you’re asking me which game I’d rather have him start then it’s a no-brainer for me.

Don’t see a lot wrong with the starting line up and it leaves a strong bench to change things case of sitting back and first half and debate how things are at half-time.

To be fair if we lose tonight we’re still more than in the race

we shouldn’t be sacrificing any game, but we were always going to have to select this sort of side once or twice
