We have 3 defenders who have played in and around 40 games for us with 5 clean sheets, those players are:
JDS
Binks
Lati (more CS as a RB in half the games)
The others; MVE, Thomas, Kitching and Bidwell have closer to 20 in 60+ games which is a far better ratio. There comes a point where you have to consider that there’s something in that correlation.
It could be tactical but season we’ve conceded so many soft goals with errors, it’s unlikely to be just tactics. We need to get a CB in there who’s got experience and can guide these young CBs through games.
That there is a flaw because individual stats do not plug into a team KPIs. Our issue is that we concede too many goals and often, there aren’t obvious mistakes - take Hull two weeks ago, no one made an obvious mistake but both CBs were just so slow reacting to the rebound.
