Have just been told by the police that they are on stand by for the Ricoh..................:claping hands::claping hands:
as in a match, or as in a protest ?
I have tended to ignore the weekend rumours as they rarely get backed up however it could be possible that if the CVA is not agreed and the club remains in administration that Appleton will have to pick up the Ricohs offer of playing for free as it is if better interest to the creditors than paying to play at Northampton.
When has Appleton done anything in the best interests of anyone other than SISU ?
surely they would have to give the police two or three weeks notice just in case ? Couldnt leave it to the last minute ie a couple days before. Does it mean there is a CCFC match there ? no it just means the police are prepared if there was, be no point ACL & SISU talking about it if the police were not able to cover it.
sorry not to be so positive
Hope the police are at the ricoh, I love a message in the bottle
I have been told over the weekend by two different sources that sisu or NTFC are struggling to get the nod from Northamptonshire police, one said the cost is astronomical. Think that was a big part in any matches going into the West Midlands area. Somebody somewhere must know if the local old bill have okayed this farce or not. Over to the local media to find out give them something to do on a boring Monday morning
I would imagine Northants police would ask West Mids for mutual aid, and WMP would send them a bill to provide additional officers. Don't know what percentage of the bill would then be charged to SISU, but maybe the police are worried the hounds won't pay up.
osb - cup replays are sometimes managed at 4 days notice if required
certainly 10 days - and we could be talking 70k people
2-3 weeks certainly not
Difference here is that no one was expecting them to play at the Ricoh because they had moved to Sixfields apparently and anothers police force would be responsible.
Do you not think considering that the police have the final say it is not wise to give them an early heads up of the possibility?
Unless the Police are happy to have the game on there is not much point discussing the possibility is there. Also what if there was an alternative event going on ?
I would guess that the police are provided with the seasons fixture list so that would be what 9 months notice on some games?
All that is going on is good planning - far too early to read in to it that CCFC will be playing at the Ricoh on the 10th
It could be they are in which case I will be very happy but right now nothing really says they will be..............
Do the police have the final say? The police commissioner of Northampton was on Cwr the other week and was not at all happy but said its out of police forces hands to veto any event. They just have to get on with it.
I would guess if nobody will agree to cover the cost then they don't police it in which case the game will be called off due to safety concerns. Came close to happening at Pompey last season, police hadn't been paid and said if they didn't get what they were owed they wouldn't provide policing and games would have to be called off.

Is there anything we can do to add to the concerns of the Police?
The police costs will be paid why would there be any concern. Whatever you lay at sisu's door they pay bills. ACL are not paid as its a rent dispute.
