Less than 2 wins from the next 4 and that’d be it, IMO.Yup. I am very much in the "in" camp, but if we lost say the next 4 games in a row, I would definitely be having a rethink.
If there's a disconnect between the manager and players and it perpetuates, it's always going to end with the removal of the man in charge unfortunately.
I literally said “I’m on the fence and I’m interested to see what everyone else thinks”. If I wanted Robins out I’d just say I want Robins out, why would I be arsed what anyone thought about my opinion? I don’t want Robins out atm but if things carry on like this for a while then yeah I would be Robins out, I’ve not created a poll just to try and disguise my true opinion, I’m just interested in what everyone on here thinks
Unfortunately I’m on the “out” side of the fence, he will be forever a city legend, he deserves tremendous credit for where he has got us. However he’s clearly can’t work with the current crop of players or devise a system that works. Our own system is working against us and stifling our best attacking forwards. He’s a defensive minded manager with a plethora of attacking talent. We were so effective in his system for the play off season because Gyokeres was just that good. He papered over cracks doing it all himself in forward areas alongside the odd late run from Gus. Even with outstanding individuals that season and arguably the best midfield duo of Sheaf/Hamer in the division we still rarely controlled games. We’re in need of a more modern attacking approach that’s proactive during matches.
And we have a tough month in November too. Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Sheffield Utd, Burnley...need to pick up points after the international break.Less than 2 wins from the next 4 and that’d be it, IMO.
Exactly. Unfortunately, I think it’s coming to an end for MR.And we have a tough month in November too. Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Sheffield Utd, Burnley...need to pick up points after the international break.
We have tickets for Preston. Must be mad.
Robins has a heck of a lot of get out clauses among the fan base that other managers certainly don't get. I've got no problem saying I think the poor start is largely down to him.
We went to Nando's. The group next to us took out their disappointment on their mate by eating his chips and putting ice cream on his chicken while he went to the bog.Was talking about this to my son on the way out the ground yesterday.
The way some around were acting was really, really bizarre.
I've always been the same, even in my teens. I always wanted us to win, but if we lost then that was the way it was. My mate who I used to go with was inconsolable though if we lost. Ruined his week until the next game.
Thankfully my son is the same as me. Takes it in his stride. We always want to win, of course, but I don't go home and kick the cat (or the wife) if we lose. Odd behaviour.
Yet you speak like someone who isn’t a typical fan at all
Some are emotional and over the top, agreed, however some (like myself) consider all variables/factors before making a decision or forming an opinion like ‘Robins In or Out’.
I don’t feel that MR is the issue, personally. Potentially, mostly everything else could be - players, coaches, infrastructure, owner.
This is what concerns me, on a personal level, all things considered.
You say entitlement, I think it’s not entirely unreasonable expectation given what both King and Robins have said.
King was clear about success needed to come on the back of increased revenues - we have those with ST sales, increased prices, improved merchandise offering etc. His expectation was 3 promotion challenges in 5 seasons. As things are, unlikely to happen this season so we have either had 1 out of three, or 0 out of 2 (dependent on start year, but either way we need to be challenging for each of the next three seasons),
Robins has said we were going to give it a good go this year, and the squad is far better than we have had for some time (Sean Maguire ffs).
Is it any wonder people’s expectations are higher than previously, that’s why so many STs get sold.

can you not read the hundreds of posts to get an idea of what people think, without doing this stupid stuff every week?
Firstly, it’s not every week, I think the last poll I posted was about 3 weeks ago (maybe?). Seondly, just because someone posts a negative comment about Robins or the team doesn’t mean they want Robins gone, it’s therefore impossible to know exactly what sort of proportion of the fanbase on here want Robins in/out without having some sort of numerical value on it.
And it’s essential for you to have statistics why exactly?
you’re very transparent on what you want, unlike some others you don’t have the balls to just come out and say it.
We didn't 'get rid' of Dennis Lawrence, he was offered a once in a life time opportunity in America that he felt he couldn't turn downAfter getting rid of Adi and Lawrence as well experienced heads such as Fadz, Kelly, Godden etc. we have a young, inexperienced squad massively lacking in belief and resilience at the moment. In the past we had the luxury of being able to rely on the individual talents of Gus, Vik and COH as well as the leadership of the aforementioned elder statesmen plus Adi/Lawrence to navigate us through tough times in previous seasons. We've basically gutted all that out and the repercussions of that are what we're witnessing now in terms of our spineless/gutless performances. I really hope there are no backroom problems, bad eggs within the team, infighting or any other unsavoury elements to erode things even further.
Collectively the squad needs to hit the reset button mentally, learn from their mistakes, pretend that the last 16-17 games dating back to last season were a bad dream and start anew. As far as top 6 aspirations for this season, I think DK/MR/pundits etc. got too far ahead of themselves and sold the fans on a highly improbable dream as far as this season goes ( we're far better when we're under the radar). In many ways we're crumbling under the weight of own expectations.
Counterintuitive as it may sound, sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. Considering all the changes mentioned above in terms of player/coach upheaval and our downward trajectory results-wise since the end of last season, we may still have some way to go before turning the corner. If it's any consolation, I think they tried to reverse the trend vs Blackburn, but couldn't sustain it against Sheff Wed and the engine ultimately sputtered and died.
So objectively, the real questions are:
1) Will getting rid of Robins now help or hurt in our efforts to turn the corner? Has he lost the dressing room/are players turning a deaf ear to him and his coaching methods?
2) If we do persist with MR, can the No2 void left by Adi be filled pronto as it appears the existing coaching structure with Delaney/Dempster is not working well?
3) If we part ways with MR, has the homework on the next boss already been done or will we have to place Boateng/Carr in charge for the time being (God I hope not)?
4) Will DK make more funds available in the Jan window and will he change his stance as far as loans go? Will he be open to the loan/purchase of players in their late twenties/thirties if they can make meaningful contributions in terms of experience/stability/quality to the squad?
5) Are the methods of the Performance Director, Boateng/Carr, sleep therapist etc actually helping or distracting MR/players from their tasks?
6) How the heck has Aled Williams kept his job? Moore was decent and quickly became shit before being shipped out. Collins was decent for a bit, then became a liability and now can’t get a game to save his life. Wilson was a golden glove winner, but has regressed since then. Dovin hasn’t kept a clean sheet at all.
7) Have any of Dean Austin’s signings been good?
Robins has credit in the bank until
Dec for me but not the whole season.
If we are to change, and I hope we don’t need to, then you would give the new manager an opportunity to add in key additions in the January window.
I think he’s done a very good job at Cov but not quite the miracle some would have you believe. We were one of the biggest clubs in Lg2 and Lg1 and getting promoted via the play offs or an aborted season was probably our minimum expectation.
if we judge him based purely on the championship his record his more mixed, but given relative playing budgets, I think still a good record.
But change Eccles for who? The general consensus is that Torp cannot play that role and that Lati is not the answer in midfield.I'd like to see a change. Not change for change sake, but Robins looks like he's running out of ideas. This is his squad, that he's built with financial backing but he seemed clueless at the weekend. The Midfield needed a change, Eccles probably needed to make way to bring something different. Wilson was injured but not subbed and we could see the goals coming a mile off.

Recruitment wise, CM has to be the top priority because it’s the only area on the pitch that is actually worse than when DK took over the club.
Until that area is addressed, a new manager will only have so much impact in the short term.
If we lose to Preston and QPR I think we need to change I’m afraid.9 games in, having 2 polls on this topic in such a short period of time is ridiculous.
Robins in, he has enough credit in the bank to lead us for the whole season providing that we’re not seriously in danger of relegation.
Wright and Simms scored more goals than Gyokeres and Godden did in 22/23. We’ve added BTA and Bassette to the mix so our forward department is overall in a stronger position. Vik has become an elite striker (or thereabouts) in his own right.I’d argue every area bar GK looks worse than when DK took over. Certainly defence and midfield.
The performance director was a King appointment, so yeah. Presumably the aim is to improve performance though, not worsen it.I’ve gone from in to on the fence. As a disclaimer I think a big reason for the regression is down to King.
I’m not sure how that’s relevant tbh, he's not actually said anything so most people don’t know, and those that do have only heard rumours. Plus it might benefit him to be out of the firing line.Anyone saying ‘Robins Out’ when he is going through such a difficult time personally needs to give their head a wobble.
Typical fan = criticise every player possible, push the MR Out narrative for years, keep a spreadsheet (genuinely tragic) and just generally play the pantomime villain on SBT.
That’s your script isn’t it?
