I literally said “I’m on the fence and I’m interested to see what everyone else thinks”. If I wanted Robins out I’d just say I want Robins out, why would I be arsed what anyone thought about my opinion? I don’t want Robins out atm but if things carry on like this for a while then yeah I would be Robins out, I’ve not created a poll just to try and disguise my true opinion, I’m just interested in what everyone on here thinks
can you not read the hundreds of posts to get an idea of what people think, without doing this stupid stuff every week?

see I’m ok with this- well reasoned, not over the top and stating a position. It’s all the sneaking around, polls, not having the balls to say what they’re clearly thinking- that stuff is annoying.

Robins has a heck of a lot of get out clauses among the fan base that other managers certainly don't get. I've got no problem saying I think the poor start is largely down to him.
He deserves respect sure, but if we can't discuss that on this forum, I don't see the point in having a forum.

Chopping and changing managers in an endless search for success is an awful model. Look at Stoke and Watford.
Trust the bloke you've got, the one who brought the club back from the brink, and the one who has dealt with far worse situations and come through it all.
Robins has earned that right, imho.
It's easy to support the team and the manager when they're doing well, but when they really need us is when things aren't working. Stick with him, and we'll come through this.
Push him out and I suspect we'll just have years of chaos on the managerial merry-go-round...

The players appear non-plussed. There’s an argument is on the staff to motivate but equally there needs to be a desire to be motivated and for some reason it isn’t there.
At least it appears not to be - we don’t know what every player is actually feeling.
Expectations are higher and so they should be. I was expecting big things this year too, and I’m massively frustrated.
But my issue is the OTT reactions. In the moment and post game sure, but 24 hours on and the hyperbole continues.
I agree. I get being frustrated- I am too. And post game I wasn’t in a good mood, but then “real life” stuff happens and as important as football is, and as much as I love supporting Cov, it doesn’t ruin my personal life, at least not for long!

After getting rid of Adi and Lawrence as well experienced heads such as Fadz, Kelly, Godden etc. we have a young, inexperienced squad massively lacking in belief and resilience at the moment. In the past we had the luxury of being able to rely on the individual talents of Gus, Vik and COH as well as the leadership of the aforementioned elder statesmen plus Adi/Lawrence to navigate us through tough times in previous seasons. We've basically gutted all that out and the repercussions of that are what we're witnessing now in terms of our spineless/gutless performances. I really hope there are no backroom problems, bad eggs within the team, infighting or any other unsavoury elements to erode things even further.
Collectively the squad needs to hit the reset button mentally, learn from their mistakes, pretend that the last 16-17 games dating back to last season were a bad dream and start anew. As far as top 6 aspirations for this season, I think DK/MR/pundits etc. got too far ahead of themselves and sold the fans on a highly improbable dream as far as this season goes ( we're far better when we're under the radar). In many ways we're crumbling under the weight of own expectations.
Counterintuitive as it may sound, sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. Considering all the changes mentioned above in terms of player/coach upheaval and our downward trajectory results-wise since the end of last season, we may still have some way to go before turning the corner. If it's any consolation, I think they tried to reverse the trend vs Blackburn, but couldn't sustain it against Sheff Wed and the engine ultimately sputtered and died.
So objectively, the real questions are:
1) Will getting rid of Robins now help or hurt in our efforts to turn the corner? Has he lost the dressing room/are players turning a deaf ear to him and his coaching methods?
2) If we do persist with MR, can the No2 void left by Adi be filled pronto as it appears the existing coaching structure with Delaney/Dempster is not working well?
3) If we part ways with MR, has the homework on the next boss already been done or will we have to place Boateng/Carr in charge for the time being (God I hope not)?
4) Will DK make more funds available in the Jan window and will he change his stance as far as loans go? Will he be open to the loan/purchase of players in their late twenties/thirties if they can make meaningful contributions in terms of experience/stability/quality to the squad?
5) Are the methods of the Performance Director, Boateng/Carr, sleep therapist etc actually helping or distracting MR/players from their tasks?
6) How the heck has Aled Williams kept his job? Moore was decent and quickly became shit before being shipped out. Collins was decent for a bit, then became a liability and now can’t get a game to save his life. Wilson was a golden glove winner, but has regressed since then. Dovin hasn’t kept a clean sheet at all.
7) Have any of Dean Austin’s signings been good?

Still “in” for me and as we’ve been through this before I’m hopeful he’ll turn it around.
People have rightly said that the players are letting him down and it’s looking like that maybe a factor. Trouble is they are all Mark Robins’ players and he (along with the recruiting department) has assembled this squad. Would a change in the managerial seat get any more out of these dimwits? I’m not so sure, so let’s stick instead of twist.

Firstly, it’s not every week, I think the last poll I posted was about 3 weeks ago (maybe?). Seondly, just because someone posts a negative comment about Robins or the team doesn’t mean they want Robins gone, it’s therefore impossible to know exactly what sort of proportion of the fanbase on here want Robins in/out without having some sort of numerical value on it.

Why would it be essential? It’s just interesting to know what people are thinking, which is exactly the point of this forum, to just chat and discuss topics related to Cov. Having an extra bit of info on what people are thinking is just interesting in my view, there’s no point to this forum in general it’s just good to take part in discussion with others and see what others are thinking

Personally I feel like I’m just saying what I’m thinking, I’m not trying to swing things in any way because what does it matter to Doug what this forum votes for in a poll? I’m genuinely just interested in what the consensus of SBT is atm.

I think he’s done a very good job at Cov but not quite the miracle some would have you believe. We were one of the biggest clubs in Lg2 and Lg1 and getting promoted via the play offs or an aborted season was probably our minimum expectation.

I'd like to see a change. Not change for change sake, but Robins looks like he's running out of ideas. This is his squad, that he's built with financial backing but he seemed clueless at the weekend. The Midfield needed a change, Eccles probably needed to make way to bring something different. Wilson was injured but not subbed and we could see the goals coming a mile off.

I agree completely, he deserves a bit of time but not the whole season if we continue to play like this every other week. I wouldn’t be willing to get into a late-season relegation battle just because Robins has been with us for a while.
I think he’s had a decent record as a championship manager but with Adi going and the coaches changing, maybe Robins just isn’t in the right place for us to get the results we need? I’m sure it was McSheffrey that said working under Robins with and without an assistant manager was some of the biggest swings in results he’d ever seen, or something along those lines. I’m happy for Robins to stay if by Christmas things have picked up for us, but if not then I think we should be looking for a new manager tbh.

But change Eccles for who? The general consensus is that Torp cannot play that role and that Lati is not the answer in midfield.
I like Torp, but he does lack any kind of physicality and he is lacking when it comes to defensive duties.
All comes back around to the fact we should have brought another midfielder in.

The only option on the bench for CM was Lati or Torp.
Recruitment wise, CM has to be the top priority because it’s the only area on the pitch that is actually worse than when DK took over the club.
Until that area is addressed, a new manager will only have so much impact in the short term.

Stability has brought us to where we are now. Sacking him is shortsighted. It is a new season and should be treated as such, are we really talking about sacking our (potentially) greatest manager, 9 games in?
The players we have are weak mentality and there is a cloud hanging over them.

Wright and Simms scored more goals than Gyokeres and Godden did in 22/23. We’ve added BTA and Bassette to the mix so our forward department is overall in a stronger position. Vik has become an elite striker (or thereabouts) in his own right.
Defence is a difficult one to judge, I’m convinced an experienced CB around the set up plugs up a lot of issues. At least there’s been a sustained effort to recruit with only LB being relatively unchanged.
Midfield is the big failure because the personnel is the exact same barring Torp. Eccles and Sheaf has improved a lot, Allen was a top end L1 CM when we signed him and only Torp has been added. We’ve spent what we have and only £2 of it has gone on CMs to replace Hamer. In Sheaf and Eccles, you have two good midfielders but they play too similarly to be effective against the better defensive teams.

The performance director was a King appointment, so yeah. Presumably the aim is to improve performance though, not worsen it.

In his defence, the spreadsheet thing isn't real (I don't think). I started that a couple of years ago as he had an uncanny knack of recalling specific posts/thoughts from a number of posters, over the years.
I just said that I was sure he must have some sort of spreadsheet that he uses when he needs to filter by poster and what he's recorded about them.
I don't think he actually has one.
