The other obvious change was at LB and LCB.

I don't think two up top would have worked the way we played the second half.
They were pressing very aggressively but we had no out ball, the passage of play in the run up to the third goal was as an example of us passing across the pass only to surrender possession in our own half, eventually leading to the corner.

Is he, or is he not a useless c**t?

Do you approve of him putting in that performance, amongst a season of shite performances since he joined, and then laughing and joking with the Pompey staff as he walked off?
Unfortunately that makes it worse. I didn’t see that but if that was the case with Collins then he is a fool onto himself. Just accept you’ve had a stinker and just get straight down the tunnel, some would say applaud the fans but yesterday it would have just inflamed the situation. Best for all to just disappear.

Do I think he's good enough for this level? No. Do I think he's a useless c**t? No. And even if I did i wouldn't shout that at him during a game. Is that going to improve his performance or boost his confidence? Fuck me, it's not rocket science.

And, at the end of the day, it's NOT his fault. Others have bought him, others have thought he WAS good enough to compete. They're to blame, not him.

He also made two excellent saves in the second half last week that ensured we got all three points. Were you calling him a useless c**t then?

Watch their 2nd goal.

Free kick around the half way line pinged to their right our left. Da Silva pathetically heads it up in the air because he can't jump very high, their goalscorer comes around the back of him and is now goal side and gains possession. Da Silva is tugging at his shirt and he is slightly off balance as he gets his shot away. Binks stands 5 yards away from the ball inviting the shot, he doesn't go to the ball to close down the space and then twists his body to the left as the ball flies past him. As it nestles in the back of the net he claps his hands in frustration at his team mates.

What a pair of useless dish rags.

Binks, Dasilva and Collins definitely need to be culled. You can make an argument for all of them based on the second half. I really think that Simms needs to be given a run, but to be fair to Bassette he scored and he looked really dangerous despite the lack of composite, however at home I'd expect Plymouth to sit deep therefore there will be little space for him to run in behind, so Simms in the box for crosses is probably a better bet.

Dovin
Milan (only because I really don't want Lati there)
Thomas
Kitching
Bidwell
Sheaf
Eccles
Allen
Sakamoto
Simms
EMC

I'd have the same except Torp for Sheaf.

Sheaf needs dropping to either give him a rest or a boot up the backside.

Genuinely thought he was prime Xavi vs Wolves yet 8 months later, he's having bad game after bad game.

DaSilva gets a lot of the blame yesterday but Binks reading of the game and sensing danger is frankly pathetic .
Decent centre backs cover that side and sort out second balls , Binks was nowhere near for their second goal and many more . He just isn't good enough currently

Agreed, he's having a stinker of a season. I thought he had a really good first half yesterday, but then was horrendous in the second. I think Fernando even said in the ratings first half 7 then second half 2. That's simply not good enough.

I don't know whether it's injuries, or he's being asked to do a different job, or the players around him are playing poorly not giving him the options he had last season. It's probably a mixture of all of it, plus just being on stinking form.

Isn’t improving his performance and confidence what the sports science team are supposed to achieve? Doug and others won’t be happy that I have mentioned it, but it’s what we have been told, seems to be it ain’t working.

Go back and watch their fourth goal - Binks stops to stand and watch the action not just for the initial shot, but for the rebound as well. You’d be hooked for that in a Power League game.

On a lighter note...did anyone see at HT yesterday when the Pompey U13s were walking round the pitch and when in front of the SBA, one of the young lads turned and held up his fingers to say 2-1 as if to take the piss.

When he turned round to keep walking he walked straight into one of the poles holding the net up.

Was perfect Karma...even some of his team mates were laughing at him!

Yes, i saw his walk into the pole. Another kid was kissing his badge when he went past. I just presumed it was him.

We have got to the point where we are saying any save that he makes is excellent - as saves are a rarity - that is a statistical fact.
The first one of those saves he nearly fluffed, with the ball nearly sneaking under his hand.
The second, down to his right, was a decent save, but one you'd expect most championship keepers to make.
The more I watch him, the more I'm baffled by how he has reached this level of the game.
His footwork is poor.
His reactions are poor.
His decision making us poor
His desire to make saves is poor (he is not a brave keeper)

As has been said though, I do feel sorry for him (as well as being very angry) - he has been brought here, he has been selected.

He looks shot to pieces (as he did at the end of last season) He needs to come out of the side and it does look apparent that the Championship is a too high a level for him.

Yes I was

I've not rated him since we brought him. He's fucking shit, and gives Lee Burge a run for his money.

I don't agree with people booing Collins during the game and shouting abuse at him, but it has to be said he's not up to standard.
There's no way he starts boxing day surely.. he's let in almost every shot against him. To give him some credit he's made some decent saves but on the whole he's been wank.

Based on the way Frank was talking he sees Wilson as number 1. So with any luck by Boxing day he'll be ready to start or at least give Dovin another chance.
But surely FL hasn't seen Wilson play so, if true, that must be based on advice from others, either that or he is not impressed by Dovin in training

Collins was getting too much verbal abuse from some City fans. A fat bloke behind the goal was one of the most vocal and Collins looked back at him a couple of times. Hr wasn’t challenged by fans although others around the area were.
You wonder why some people waste their money watching football

Not long before that they had a similar free kick and EMC had two men to mark and just allowed to run past him.The next time they done it was when Dasilva was weak as nats piss.

Probably a different game if Norm had scored a second with his 1 on 1 with the keeper. It’s all well and good playing him for his pace behind the oppos line, but he does need to be able to convert the chances his pace has presented him with. This really isn’t fair, but Vik would have buried that, as would Wright, possibly Simms and even BTA.

Do not agree, if we had gone 2 nil up we still would have competulated, the score would have been 4.2

I think you are rating him too high. He is the worse keeper I have seen in a city shirt in the 64 years I have been going.

This is the kind of OTT post that makes me smile.

You've clearly forgotten Raddy Aramovic, Clayton Ince, Liam O'brien and a good few other keepers.

Have to admit I can't even remember Liam O' Brien. You are right we've had some poor keepers over the years .

He was the keeper that fell out with Robins and ended up at Stratford Town. Say no more.
