Portsmouths first team coach is lining up with a load of 17 years olds tomorrow night in a league cup match. Not even a joke.
Re-Read what I wrote. one thread. Singular, not plural :jerkit:
technically they go back to the PL and get distributed between the member clubs I think. In practice I can see the PFA moving in and arrangements made to use that money to pay outstanding player wages. From a purely selfish point of view, what will now happen to their parachute payments?
Is it me or does anyone else think that Mr Chanrai protests too much. He seems to have thrown everything into the statement to justify his position. But the timing of it makes me wonder.
I believe that tomorrow Pompey have to prove to the FL they can complete the season
there is no time for anyone to step in before the season starts and therefore little chance of having more than just the academy players playing.
The football creditors debts were largely settled - even if new ones have turned up (whats been going on if new ones just suddenly appear ?? !!! the job of the administrator is to gather up all the debts and assets and these debts only just become apparent?)
There is no large on going wages debt so tax etc not increasing
and all the time Chanrai is sitting there with a charge over Fratton Park securing his debt ...... prime development land i suspect.
Could be wrong and doing the guy a dis service but ............
just an opinion
What a pity .Shame they can't show a bit of Altruism and distribute it throughout the leagues for the benefit of all clubs who are quite obviously struggling.technically they go back to the PL and get distributed between the member clubs I think. In practice I can see the PFA moving in and arrangements made to use that money to pay outstanding player wages.
laughably Appleton and the local news reporter are both saying they are expecting the league to remove the embargo tomorrow and for new signings to be in place for Saturdays match!
This was the 2nd story on BBC South Today just now. Chanrai's Portpin Company have withdrawn their bid, the Portsmouth Supporters Trust has secured funds of £4½ million and are waiting for the administrator to come forward and accept their bid. But the local report also said there is SERIOUS doubt if Portsmouth Football Club will even exist by the time the season kicks off on Saturday.
On that basis Chiefdave, I think they'll be gone by saturday. What happens to the fixtures? Do the players use the time for extra training?
The sun is shining, the birds are singing and Pompey set to sign 10 players before Bournemouth match. A rare good news day! More later.
Unbelivable, this is what the local papers Pompey reporter has this morning
Can someone explain to me how they can sign 10 players when they're under an embargo, how they're going to pay them when they are effectivly bust and why the league are allowing this???
