Positives (1 Viewer)

I'm sick and tired of hearing nothing but moaning and bitching on Twitter and on here, so I thought it was high time of a thread where we can discuss positive things. I'll start off. I don't think it was a case of playing awful today. Granted, we weren't great, but at least we played better than we did at Crewe. Bristol were just too good for us today. Maddison impressed from the bench and Barton was by far our best player in my opinion. If anyone has a positive thing to say, lets here it. No bitching and no moaning. It could be worse. We could be Leicester fans and have webbed feet

Maddison and it's beer o'clock

(Don't get the Barton love in, played better second half, but was very poor in the first, the thought of 3 Barton, fleck, Thomas, o'brien in midfield leaves me completely uninspired, add to that bristol largely dominated the midfield area)

That bristol bought 3784 to make the attendance look better is the only positive

..........New Goalkeeper......

............Willis.....Reda.......
...............Barton
Phillips...................,Haynes

..........Fleck ..Maddison.....

............Coulibaly (free role)

..........Nouble Jackson

A good team Coulibaly and Maddison interchanging in the free role Barton dropping into defence to help there but also bring the ball out when the goalie can't role it to the wing backs

Positives: We scored a good goal. We almost equalized (but not quite). They are the top team so losing is no disgrace. Most people on here predicted we would lose anyway. But the fact is last week, we lost to the bottom team. So there are minor positives but they are heavily outweighed by the negatives.

Great Don, the most lightweight midfield on Coventry city history. That's got relegation written all over it. Can you imagine the amount goals they would concede from set pieces...

Liam – your enthusiasm is awesome, seriously. You put the likes of me (who have finally lost it) to shame.

I can’t say anything about today’s game as I wasn’t there, but I can say that football fans by their nature tend to over-react (to wins as well as defeats). We did play the runaway league leaders today, and I hope and believe that you are right to say that our performance wasn’t as bad as some people are making out. I think we have a lot of young players coming through, and hope we can keep them and build around them.

Just to add that I felt sorry when a certain member of this forum put you down the other week – the person concerned, I my opinion, may yet end up with a lot of egg on his face. Anyway, I’m very glad to see that it hasn’t put you off contributing.

Maddison was really good, he wasn't out of his depth in the slightest.

To be honest I did want a tenacious midfielder in beside Fleck.

Then have Maddison and Coulibaly playing a bit of the game each in that free role.
However we don't have the tenacious midfielder.

This one want be popular but we could do with this

PHIL Brown insists the inclusion of Gary Deegan has stopped his Southend United side from being too nice.

He doesn't look out of his depth, but he does look a little too slight.

I have been saying for 3 years now, what you need in this division is power and pace. Watching that today it really was men against boys at times.

Very few positives for me, other than the quality of kids we are producing from the academy. After that, there's not a lot to praise.

Our movement is poor, we are predictable, don't create enough chances (first one in the 66th minute today), make too many errors and our midfield especially, looks incredibly lightweight.

Maddison is like a breath of fresh air. His first thought is forwards, every time.

Barton in the first half only passed the ball sideways and back. O'Brien, Fleck and Thomas are all guilty of the same too.

We are incredibly predictable and also our build up play is so slow, the opposition has so much time to get organised and get men behind the ball.

Am now very concerned about this season. You can't keep going through games hardly creating any chances in tandem with a defence that leaks in goals all the time.

Positives? Dr. Who's on tonight.

Let's not let that last 15 minutes at the end wash over the dregs of what went on for the other 75 minutes.

Positives are Maddison looked comfortable an worth his place in the team on a more regular basis. However we gotta remember he's still very young an not gonna impact every week.
Also we knew Bristol city would brush us aside so won a few quid in the process.

Let's face it. Had we played well for the first 15 mins and then played poorly for the following 75, no-one would be saying there were any positives at all yesterday.

Let's not be fooled because the reverse happened and that we played well for the last 15 and were crap the rest.

And have not won in three in the Premier League. Our Nige needs to sort something out.

I always find the positives out of all this negativity , I love the colour of our kit, always have .

i am also proud that my club is known for the free flowing football it plays, and that some of our players are more gifted than some Premiership players.

what the hell have we got to moan about, our manager is not only building a team he's rebuilding the club at the same time . As he said when he first came to Cov,"this club has a losing mentality and I will be changing that", so everything is in hand so stop worrying , we will win a game soon.....ish .

You can't rebuild a club with the uncertainty off the field, rebuilding with SISU's level of investment is just shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic, getting relegated but playing nice free flowing football in line with the SP strategy with home grown talent won't be good

At least you have owners who invest in your club mate

They're good I will give them that. At least you're back home which is the first step mate. Could it be that you maybe going onto a 'partnership' with Wasps Rugby, which may eventually enable you guys to have some funds for better players. Think Pressley would be fine if his hands weren't so tied by your idiot owners. Genuine good luck to getting rid of these idiots running your club
