CCFC will compete in a pre-season tournament against Liverpool, PSV, Rangers, Wolves and Nuneaton at Liberty Way:

Sounds quite exciting but don't think PSV and Liverpool will send many first team players. Will attempt to post the other pre-season games too as and when they come out

Shame a club like Nuneaton are able to organise a tournament like it yet we can't even hold a home friendly fixture yet again :(

Then again even if we were allowed to, it'd probably end up just being a return leg of the annual Nuneaton ore season game anyway (like last year when we ended up playing them but were allowed to be the home team....)

That's incredible. This is the sort of event that the Ricoh should be hosting.

Something like the Emirates cup.

Could easily sell the Ricoh out. Liverpool and Rangers would bring thousands.

We might well need to get used to playing at Liberty Way.

Sounds really clever to be honest from Nuneaton, if it's a nice day they can load the bar with stock and watch the money roll in.

What are the laws with drinking at their ground? Isn't it only league football you can't have a beer?

£40 for a weekend of football with some beers isn't bad at all.

Not even sure they serve alcohol inside do they?

Remember us playing Everton at home in a pre-season friendly back when they had Fellaini playing for them. 2-2 draw I believe.

They do have a bar/clubhouse adjacent to their 'end', although I don't think you can currently take drinks past the front door to go outside, and they don't currently serve alcohol out of the kiosk up at the away end.

The West Brom friendly was my lads first ever game. I think it also marked the triumphant return of Gary McSheffrey.

We played Norwich at the Ricoh the season after being relegated from the Championship - that's was the last home friendly I think, but could be wrong. Only about 2000 turned up for that, and remember thinking at the time that I hope we never have another one. Unless you can pull in a top European team, it ain't worth it.

Not 100% sure, it's possible that it's just their club policy. At Bedworth United, two further divisions below, you can do what you like.

I would guess that they would be unlikely to relax this, let's face it, Us, Wolves, Rangers, Liverpool, Nuneaton.... Even if it was only youth teams and small fan followings, I think the authorities would have at least one eye on it with regards to it kicking off...

Do people kick off at mini pre season tournaments? :(

Cov vs QPR in Ibiza the summer before we started at the Ricoh, which then led to the trouble at our opening game at the Ricoh (vs QPR)...

I would day not usually, but let's face it, City fans go down to the likes of Nuneaton and Hinckley every pre-season acting as if they are "taking over" the place, giving it stacks in the railway stations are giving the stewards a hard time. So mix in some similarly minded idiots from the likes of Wolves and Rangers and I'd think that they'd be at least a little wary.

Just listening to Robins on the radio, confirms the club aren't allowed to play pre-season at the Ricoh. Is hoping to arrange games locally at other venues. I'm guessing that will be the Butts or Nuneaton.

When was it we got tonked heavily by Benfica, it was looking OK for a while then we just shipped goal after goal, was it the start of the season we went down?

Benfica was way before that. 96 or 97 I reckon. Because we played Bayern Munich a year or two after whilst still in the Premier League, and fared a little better, I think we only lost 4-2 in that one. Incidentally the Bayern fans were the best I've ever seen from an away side at City.

Problem is the better quality the opposition is, the more you have to pay them.
We do all know that they don't play for free ?
