I think the importance of pre season fixtures is under estimated. since We’ve been in championship again we havent really played any opposition who are better than us to help prepare for the season. Also not playing home preseason games can’t help either.

It’s a balancing act as the primary objectives of pre season are match fitness and integration of new players. Getting a thrashing from a higher level team can only damage morale going into the season.
