They'll have to offload players and I read they have a massive loan with an Australian company which will have to be paid by their parachute payments. Their new younger chairman does not seem to like spending money either.
They will but that optimism will still be there. Same with Leeds and Southampton.

id imagine they recoup something like 100m in selling players so I expect them to reset well - they’ve got people like Dewsbury-Hall who is a good player at this level. Leicester will be there or there abouts

Ueurgh, turn of the century fact.
You are probably right though for the first season back down though.
Get your point - I know football started before then. But 23 years is a good barometer for recent success

The best appointment they could get but it shows how low they are as he will win you nothing.

Jesse Lingard released by Forest after only making 17 appearances, nice work if you can get it. I wonder where he will end up?

Ange Postecoglou says he wants the Spurs job. When do we reckon he'll get the boot?

His name just reminds me of that comedian who has the carrier bag.

Only just seen that next season's PL fixtures are announced tomorrow morning. Feels weird only a few days after the CL final, even accounting for the season being delayed by a few weeks for the World Cup.

Arsenal have had an offer of nearly £100m turned down for Rice

It's a ridiculous figure anyway, I can get a bag of it from Tesco for about £5!

I'd much prefer to sign his brothers, twins Baz and Matty

I'm assuming that's a case of the new owner being happy to get through last season but now wanting to kick on with a bigger name.

I fancy Spurs to do okay next season if Kane stays and with them playing no European football

Midfield of a fully fit Bentancur, Bissouma and Maddison is an exciting prospect

Not a bad midfield and attack (if Kane stays) will their shite defence keep them out though ?

Signed a new keeper today - Seems a bit of a risk but then again Lloris was a appalling towards the back end of last season - They wanted Raya from Brentford I think who will inevitably run down his contract there and join Spurs for nothing next season if this new keeper is no good

Yeah their defence is shocking, Dier is a cart horse nowadays and Romero is a liability so they need to improve there which I’ve no doubt they will

They could be better in defence as old dropsy has been replaced in goal.
There’s obvious scepticism cause he’s come from the Scottish league but I do get the impression Postecoglou is a decent manager in all honesty

People seem to forget how much of a state Celtic were in when he took over, Rangers had just wiped the floor with them and the rest of the League (I don’t think they actually lost a game that season) and Postecoglou come in and made them a much better side and signed some decent players to boot
