I'm wrong, it actually looks greater. The gulf in quality looks the same as us against Maidstone.
Shef Utd are a broken team.

I don’t remember us taking any massive beatings at home thoughI remember the year we went down on 34 points, it was fucking miserable.

Eh? The year we went down we lost 1-0 to Arsenal at home, in their side that day wasI’ve sat through some awful spells we’ve had, and against players nowhere near as good as Saka, Rice, Odegaard etc.,
Not a chance I’d be leaving 15 mins in.
The gulf has widened though hasn't it in the past 20 odd yearsI don’t remember us taking any massive beatings at home though
I’m talking about post premier league yearsEh? The year we went down we lost 1-0 to Arsenal at home, in their side that day was

No we didn't, only that Everton game where it was 3-0 at half time and one bloke tried to attack StrachanI don’t remember us taking any massive beatings at home though
Was it Ron Atkinson? No we didn't, only that Everton game where it was 3-0 at half time and one bloke tried to attack Strachan

Everyone has their limits…“We’ll leave when it gets to 7”.Loving the people who decided to leave at 5-0, rather than 4-0.
Not just widened it’s insurmountable, even if you have a billionaire owner these days you’ll fall foul of FFP as a smaller club/newly promoted, you’re never getting anywhere near the established top 8.The gulf has widened though hasn't it in the past 20 odd years
Was that in a 24 team league?
To be fair though, those results are expected.
Brighton recruit well and have spent big money off pitch in that dept over a number of years becoming a solid top 8 club.
Arsenal and Villa both have £500-£800 million spends over the last couple years assembling world class top 4 squads. You’re never competing with that with what Shef Utd have spent.
YeahWas that in a 24 team league?
Remember my dad dragging us out early and going ‘we’re fucking leaving’ when I said I wanted to see Lee Carsley take a penaltyNo we didn't, only that Everton game where it was 3-0 at half time and one bloke tried to attack Strachan

Think we lost 6-0 at Chelsea - Kirkland got sent offI don’t remember us taking any massive beatings at home though
Expect a little more fight, but there’s only so far it can go. West Ham have a better squad than Sheff Utd and Arsenal absolute tortured themResults expected yes, scorelines not so much. There's no shame in defeat but there's a way to go about it.
They have already conceded more goals than the infamous Derby team of 2007/8.
Is 9-0 still the biggest ever PL win?
As an amendment to this, not gonna lie I want us to get in before the shop gets closed if that’s the futureNot just widened it’s insurmountable, even if you have a billionaire owner these days you’ll fall foul of FFP as a smaller club/newly promoted, you’re never getting anywhere near the established top 8.
Even Brightons scouting cheat code has been diminished by everyone getting to that same level/poaching scouts.
Even if there’s a solution, the established clubs don’t want it, closed shop is the goal.
Agreed. They look that broken that without serious change this summer they aren't going to challenge at championship level.
They just look hollow.

Like Luton, I thought they’d be the leagues whipping boys but look how close they’ve ran top sides at home this season and they haven’t brought in world beaters, but their players seem to at least care.Sure. Arsenal are flying & as a one off yep, absolutely you get these results, but it's happened so many times it's embarrassing. They got done 8-0 by Newcastle & 5-0 by bloody Burnley!
As you rightly said before though, it's not entirely unexpected due to their woeful recruitment & I don't think they have been setup well all season either.

That shed of a ground helps too though.
Yeovil 6-2, I'm sure Palace were 4-0 up at half time at the Ricoh, think we got a goal back, lost 4-0 at home to Preston 2007I’m talking about post premier league years
