Kalvin Phillips managing to exist in that rare space where he’s of interest to Juventus, Barcelona and multiple PL teams, but in the eyes of most fans isn’t even good enough for the England squad

You conveniently miss the fact most people have issues with him because he doesn't play.

If the managers of those teams don’t have any qualms about adding him to their squad then I don’t see why England’s should freeze him out, especially when we have a need at that position.

Historically this hasn’t been the case.
And? we are talking about now.

It is perfectly reasonable to think that while a player might be good enough for x team he isn't good enough for England.

Longstaff plays for one of England's top teams but is not of the standard of the current England team.

Because they were only rumours.

Again, it's that he hasn't played for his club.

We are more short on top class centre backs but doesn’t stop Southgate playing 3 at the back. We aren’t short on good options in defensive midfield.

Wow. One place further up the "longest serving manager" table for Robins in the summer then.

It will end up being one of those ridiculous seasons City and Liverpool both end up on 90 odd points again and one of them ends up missing out

City still having to go to Anfield changes the dynamic ever so slightly this time though

Wolves are a hard team to beat at home, whilst United’s away form is piss poor and Onana is back in goal. Should make for an entertaining game.

Man Utd 3-2 up about 4 minutes stoppage time left .They sent their big men up for a corner (why?) got caught on the break. They scored to make it 4-3 but were they lucky.
