Are you being serious here Nick or just playing devil's advocate again? If you really don't know then I would suggest. you take into account that we are one of the largest one club city's in the UK...we have been starved of anything to shout about for the last god know's how many years and our club has been taken away from us and been placed 35 miles away from the place most of us have our reason for supporting the club in the first place. Potentially we are a very big club Nick and the sooner those that try and underplay that potential stop putting us down the better as far as I'm concerned. Some would happily have us at the bottom of League 1 because they believe that's our natural position but they are talking bollox!
"The Stadiums numerous owners"? If that is the degree of knowledge the rest is probably bollocks.
Tbf the numerous owners comment is not quoted from Pressley I don't think. I think it's sky's words.I picked up on that line. He either doesn't know that there are only two parties involved or his release is with help from someone from SISU. It is our club that has numerous owners. None of them are supposed to own a stake of over 9% without stating the fact. But there again when did SISU care about the rules?
The problem is that after 50 years of going to every home game, the Saturday routine has now gone. For the last 15 years that routine involved 25 miles each way for wife and me, and now we do other things at weekends. So it's not just a principle, it is the practicality as well as not being willing to risk losing the money. (Yes, I know I could buy a ST on a credit card.) Getting back into watching football would be gradual, just going when we could. We take several holidays a year, and we no longer have to consult the fixture list to fit them in, for instance.
I think it is very sad that so many older fans like me have almost become resigned to not seeing the club in Coventry again. The disappointment has already happened though, and I have no real expectation of us returning to the Ricoh. Even if we did, it will take a lot more to recover the ones who have given up ]
Yes I appreciate all your comments. Certainly going on holiday is a lot more enjoyable than watching 3rd tier stuff.
I used to travel to almost every game from Manchester but had stopped doing that because of cost and other family reasons.
I obviously hope we can both watch our team again soon and have our club back. I went to two away games last season and could not raise any enthusiasm with the disgraceful "SISU commercial strategy cloud" dominating all my thoughts.
TBF and I genuinely mean this. What you say shouldn't really need explaining to anyone from Coventry or the SURROUNDING area

I'm glad you mentioned the surrounding area dong. As well as being a one club city there are 5 surrounding big(ish) towns without pro teams and a potential big boost to the fan base. Rugby, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Leamington & Warwick. Not to mention Kenilworth and a whole host of villages. The potential for the club if run correctly is huge. How big is lego land going to be again?
What I mean is why could this club be.a gold mine when many others can't?? How many clubs are gold mines nowadays?
What is our natural position?
I wasn't the one who said it could be a gold mine...Why should we want it to be a gold mine anyway? I would rather we have sports fans as owners who would be happy with little or no financial return, but with achieving sporting success. Even if that means a company like Red Bull profiting from a successful image by being associated with us. Or, preferably, an older person with loads of money which he/ she cannot spend on living in the rest of his/ her life, but lacking social recognition, who sees CCFC as a means of boosting his/ her image. The last thing we need are more chancers hoping to make a quick buck. Out natural position in my lifetime was/ is struggling at the end of the season in whatever league we are in.

But those towns were always there, weren't they along with a captive audience; even before SISU turned up.
I know it's been disputed and argued many times but I would say a large proportion of the fan base comes from outside the City.
