He's only been here 10 days, but has already entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the amount of times he has used the word 'outstanding!'

Seems with him every performance from any player is 'outstanding' 'magnificent' or brilliant.'

We were poor today but every player Geoff Foster asked him about either put in an 'outstanding' 'magnificent' or 'brilliant' performance.'

:)

Well given he is unbeaten I would not hold a little befriending to the players against him

I know lets say they are all shite and see what happens then

What's wrong with you today comrade?

Nowt. It wasn't a criticism, merely an observation.

Just think soon he is going to run out of adjectives and the other day he said Sheff was outstanding when nearly everyone else thought he was a bag of wanky stuff.

I'm finding it quite amusing to be honest.

It's turning into the equivilant of Thorn's "the lads did good". That's not the only equivilance. Remain unconvinced, but too early to tell.

First impressions of Pressley aren't good for me!
I thought we were crap on Tuesday and he said we were outstanding!
Another one with that bloody managers spiel!!

Simply the best
Better than all the rest

Its an ugly league we're in. Id take ugly 1-0 wins for the rest of the season if it meant we went up.

Some of the football does remind me of McAllisters stint as manager though, only difference being we appear to be picking up points under Pressley.

Too early to be too critical of him tho, especially when we're getting points

I like him. We're going to have to learn how to play progressive football with it on the deck, but as he says, it's going to take time for the players to adjust. I think he talks a good game and find his enthusiasm infectious, just my type of manager! That was the best game I've seen Edge play-I think having a CB as manager is helping him and will really tighten us up at the back.

3 games, 2 wins, 1 draw-and a form-busting 4 points out of 6 at home? He's doing a great job so far, especially given the potential excuse of off-field distractions.

Passion and petulance he will do for me if he keeps getting results. nice ingredients providing he commands respect of players.

Am I the only one who thought we played OK today? We created some decent openings and were never really threatened. It was scrappy and not pretty at times, but it was an OK performance for me.

I don't have a problem with it, he's keeping heads up and trying to maintain and build confidence.

We don't agree on much, but we do on that!

Well he hasn't lost a game at home yet and stopped the rot with a win and a draw at home.

3 games in and 7 points out of 9

Not bad IMO with a team with injuries to key players and doomsday scenario in the boardroom.

It weren't terrible but Hartlepool were shocking, we did enough without really getting above 2nd gear

I find it quite funny how with Robins he told pretty much how it was and everyone liked that and now Pressley tells its exactly how it wasn't and everyone likes it.

I think his interviews are pretty pointless as it all so brilliant.

I understand where you are coming from Otis but if you want fine literature go see a play. Fergie can't really string two good sentences together but he always brings out the best in players. Educational superiority can sometimes hinder even the best of us. SP is a wonderful manager with an amazing team so let's just leave it at that.

As I say, it wasn't a criticism, it was just an observation.

He just seems to use every adjective going.

Just wondering what he's going to do once he runs out of superlatives. ;)

He already has. He will use these adjective because I guess they express exactly how he feels. I get stressed teaching Japanese, and now other nationalities because they have such a small lexical usage. SP will make us cringe with lack of vocabulary but is that important when analysing his management know-how?

I'd get stressed teaching Japanese too as I don't speak a word of it.

Apart from kamikaze, karaoke and Yellow Magic Orchestra.

The other thing is, this is what he says to the media and fans at an extremely difficult time for the club. From their constant prowling, note taking and obvious frustration on the line I don't think he or McFarlane are saying superlatives directly to the players. I feel sorry for him. General apathy and booing of his subs yet he's unbeaten and come from behind twice.

Well said. He is doing a good job considering the bigger picture. He must be a bit miffed by the turn of events since JS said all off field troubles were being addressed.

I seem to remember when Stevie boy was 1st mentioned as gonnae be your boss, a few fans saying he wasn't good enough because he came from a poor level.
Seems to me he's made a step down not up in the world.
He's fair making your level seem easy.

For the OP, he does like the word outstanding, I understand he tells his wife that dinner and sex were outstanding regularly.

You do realise his first 3 games have been against 3 of the worst sides in the division right?

It "seems to you" he has took a step down but he clearly hasn't so what's your point?
