Joe and gary were in the casino last night with Preston Haskell and Ted Sullivan.......they are deadly serious about the take over, the administrator needs to get his arse in to gear so they can get this sorted.

There is a light at the end of this dark tunnel we are currently in, we need to all pray that this takeover goes through.

It wouldn't surprise me if the administrator takes his holiday and scratches his arse for longer than 6 months, and in the mean time a better opportunity crops us for Haskell and he ups and leaves. This is CCFC after all.

Not sure what you're getting at here but my point was that he is looking to a buy a football club and we're just 'lucky' that at the moment he is keen on ours. That could change over time.

On the stadium,
The club and the stadium have to come hand in hand, not only for a successful future but also for Haskell to be interested in the purchase in the first place.

Personally, I'm not naive enough to think the man would be interested if the stadium wasnt part of the deal.

I would also hope that he's very interested and clued up on the property side of it because that is the key to a stable and promising future for the club anyway.

50% of the stadium can be bought from the Higgs Trust, but the Council will never sell their share. That's the impression I got from the talk in Kenilworth.

I think once he's in it doesn't matter if he's a fan, but that he doesn't have an emotional tie to the club makes everyone that little more anxious that he could understandably get bored of waiting around the longer it all goes on.

Simon Jordan, Dave Whelan, Steve Gibson they bought the clubs they support.

Haskell wants an investment currently Coventry are the best option if a better one pops up he will go for that.

If you are a Cov Fan you may not look elsewhere you may continue to pursue Cov.

It's taken him weeks to find the football league share, and went on holiday. Not good enough. This is more important than some bloke's holiday arrangements.

Also, Hoffman has written to him three times to officially communicate an interest in the club - and as of the other night in Kenilworth, had received no response.

Doesn't sound like the guy is doing his job to me. SISU were desperate to appoint their own administrator; think we're starting to find out why.

What is and always has been available to Coventry City football club is the option on the Higgs charity share.

This alone will not give the football club income streams they seek.

The protagonist in all this is the Council.

So buying the Higgs charity share is not buying half the stadium which keeps getting quoted.

I have said over and over that ACL is a brick wall in all this. Council should disband ACL. The freehold can be kept by the council for the City of Coventry. BUT let the football club run and operate the stadium. Give IT a long substantial lease to the whole complex. Without something akin to that prospect ANY owner, save of pumping some cash in for a while, will find the football club unsustainable without it.

SISU had tried to bring this about and failed. Their approach was wrong, the theory was right. ACL won't listen and the Council won't listen.
We need a new knight to ride in and want to pay a hefty premium for a 99 year lease and with it buy the football club. Maybe even invest in the land development as a rider to that deal.

Step up Mr Haskell. No one will deal with SISU on this basis. What SISU want is an exit plan agreed where they get some investment back.

Surely everyone can get a deal that suits the City, the development, the football club and the people of Coventry. Why is everyone dancing around the issues while our football club falls into a laughing stock?

100% correct of course. Just wondering why you believe the council wouldn't be willing to cooperate if the club was in the right hands - this may even mean Haskell proving himself to be a good owner over time should the proposed takeover go through.

That should be the ideal outcome. But councillor Meyton et al think that they should hold on to it. But in my view it should be leased to the private sector providing the local authority cover their costs with interest. The council could lease at a low rate on the proviso that the new developer buys adjacent land and builds on it. This could be achieved through implementing a low lease over a longer period.
