If we hadn't conceded such a stupid goal people would be praising this first half for our positive intent. Preston's back 3 playing deeper and narrower than ours have. Means that all the space is in the pocket for O'Hare but there's very little space centrally in their back line so everything looks forced or misplaced. Allen needs to play higher so Godden isn'r marked by 3 or we'll have to go to a 2nd striker to try and pull their back 3 apart and make some gaps.
Can see this 2nd half being incredibly open as we chase.

Don't know how hyam can be blamed tbh, very simple work that was for sheaf to deal with, bread and butter stuff and he dithered... Again.

Played quite well first half, silly error gifted them a goal. As I said after one of the other recent games, despite not losing much lately we don't seem to have much confidence which is borne out of the lack of goals.
I think Allen and O'Hare have both done quite well in some respects but neither is gambling beyond Godden enough.

My issue with Hyam is he’s a right footed CB playing left sided every time he receives it he’s either forcing it on his weaker foot or has a tendency to turn back in on his stronger foot

A couple of nice swivels to get out of trouble doesn’t mean you’re forgiven for booting the ball down half a pitch to nobody time and time again. We need to build in their half so we can get some bodies forward, we’re not going to do that with these constant long balls. Calm it down, play the simple pass and build, Preston aren’t anything special but we’re beating ourselves for them.

Don't be so critical. We have looked good. Preston look very worried, even getting rattled at the end there. Sooner rather than later we will get more chances to score. Still think we can do this on play so far. Early goal second half and there's only one winner. Giles introduction not the effectiveness we all wanted but he will produce a moment.

We are losing due to a silly individual error.
Don’t let that get in the way of the fact this is the most in a game I can remember us being for ages. We’ve looked the stronger side. Granted, it counts for nothing if the score stays the same, but there certainly reasons to be encouraged.
However we need more from an attacking perspective, Allen and O’Hare are doing well aside form the all important final ball/decision. I’d like to go two up front around 60 if we’re still losing.

You don't play a ball to a midfielder who you can see has a player on his shoulder on the edge of your own area.
Hyam is so fucking hackneyed in every pass he makes, takes him 5 touches to get the ball to the left wing back and it usually makes the lwb check and come back.
