Hi
I’m features editor at the Sunderland fanzine A love Supreme and its website www.a-love-supreme.com

We are doing a feature previewing all the teams in League One next season and was wondering if you could answer the following questions please?

Thanks in advance

What was the story of your season last year? Highs and lows…
Who’s your best player, ones to watch etc?
How do you think you’ll do against us next season?
How will you do overall next season?

For further inquiries drop me an email

Sunderland 4 Coventry City 5 is all I needed last season, bigger things to worry about this season than results.

You might have more chance if you didn't describe us as wankers on your site.

Didn't realise - I assumed that this was a normal nice person and don't like assuming people are bad or fit a stereotype. I'm deleting my review and you don't have permission to use it.

"Their fans have been wankers whenever we’ve faced them so it’s difficult to have any sympathy for them having to share Birmingham City’s ground this season."

Can we all just calm down a bit haha. Not looking for trouble, just a feature for the site

I think you have a cheek. You call us wankers, publish it on your website, then come onto our website trying to claim the higher ground because you want something from us. I've read 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' and don't recall anything in there about calling people wankers before engaging. Take another look at your copy - is that bit written in biro by any chance?

To be honest mate, we've had enough of your fans coming on here laughing about Jimmy Hill having dementia, laughing at him dying, laughing about our ownership and trying to build up a rivalry where there shouldn't be one, then starting fights when you came to the Ricoh. Is there any surprise a few morons amongst our crowd reacted? I don't condone what happened but this constant victim act is wearing thin. From what's happened over the last few there are one set of fans you could describe consistently as wankers and it isn't ours.

We'll have to bring our umbrellas... need to be careful of bottles falling from above
I mean we need to warn Birmingham that Sunderland fans might shit in their fountains.

To be fair to answer your questions

Story of last year - Did better than expected - fully expected us to be in a relegation battle. To finish safely in 8th was a good return considering we scraped into the play offs in league two the year before.

Low point - general finishing - was poor throughout

Best current player - for me, possibly Liam Kelly, Dom Hyam or Jordy Hiwula

Next season - Depends on how we take to our new surroundings. Me personally would take mid table.

Don’t think Sunderland will fail a second season running - I’d be happy with 2 points.

The vast majority of Sunderland fans I met were sound. Twats like this and those chucking rocks, attempting to vandalise a memorial garden and mocking the dead are what gives the fan base a bad name. There seems to be a strange mentality to the more vocal Sunderland fans that they have done no wrong and everybody else are the baddies. We acknowledge that some of our fans weren't the best against you, you don't seem to have the capacity to do the same.

It kicked off twice last season for us, Sunderland at home and Sunderland away. How many times did it happen for you? Us x2, Pompey x2, any more? maybe you should start looking at yourself before you stroll on to other sites trying to generate yourself some traffic.

Embarrassing really, fair play to those who've answered the questions properly and haven't taken the piss.

Nowhere near as embarrassing as holding a grudge for 40 years, then Instigating a rivalry and crying about it when people act on said rivalry created by yourselves.

Like fucking a blokes wife and wondering why you got a slap, weird lot you are

Now.... Piss off marra

This "grudge" only seemed to start a few years ago. It was never mentioned before that. Someone was obviously bored one day and needed someone else to hate. They chose us. I'm sure most sensible Sunderland fans don't hold any sort of grudge.

Put it on the internet, and somebody will out you eventually. Thought this thread would only go one way, before OP was found to have badmouthed us. After that, inevitable.

“The players may find it unusual playing in a different stadium”. They didn’t seem to struggle when at the Stadium of Light. In fact, with the exception of Bristol Rovers away, I’d say last season we were more disappointing at the RICOH...where we had to play on a ‘pitch’ that resembled something like no-mans land from The Somme. Maybe the pitch at St Andrews will be a better surface all season on which to play football
