A few points in general response:
1. The proposal represents a consensus of Sky Blues Trust members at last night's meeting, therefore should not be seen as Trust Board policy. I have posted it here as I and others at that meeting think it's a good idea.
2. If attendance at the Ladies game in Coventry is greater than the crowd at Sixfields at approximately the same time, it will send a very loud message to all responsible for this mess that they need to resolve their differences and sort this out. Sisu/ACL/CCC but in particular the Football League who have the ultimate responsibility for sanctioning the move to Northampton will surely take notice of such an outcome, even if they do nothing immediately as a result.
3. In less than 3 weeks (1 week after the game) it will be the anniversary of the club leaving the Ricoh so this is a very timely opportunity to express our dissatisfaction with the situation while at the same time supporting the Ladies who genuinely deserve a decent turnout.
4. Almost a year after CCFC left the Ricoh, still no land purchased for a new stadium! A good time therefore for the Trust Board to go back to the Football League and ask what they are doing to get our club back to Coventry, can they re-consider the decision to allow Sixfields to be used. The weight of argument from a big turnout at the Ricoh for the Ladies game can only help in these arguments.
5. The 'WHY?' campaign has never been targeted at just Sisu. We all have our views on where most blame lies, however few of us would claim that any of the 'usual suspects' is entirely blameless, therefore the campaign is aimed at all those responsible.
6. Attending a game at the Ricoh does not endorse ACL /CCC in anyway. It seems bizarre for a majority of supporters to say that we want CCFC to be playing there, but not to take a good opportunity to watch a Coventry City team in an important cup game because that looks like taking sides. Speaking personally, if Sixfields attenders want to go to watch the Port Vale game as usual, I respect your choice even if I disagree with it, same as every match. The difference is that I will be at the Ricoh rather than on the Hill as normal.
