you see what you want to see as always, how about Grendels ACL/CCC wankfest for some bile?
I thought the "Why" campaign was aimed at all parties not just SISU/Club or did I get that wrong? So I can see why some would find merit, if you want to back that campaign, to taking it to the Ricoh. It shouldn't be couched as an anti SISU campaign because the KCIC campaign was questioning all parties SISU, CCFC, ACL, CCC etc
My own opinion is that it will have little effect and little coverage.
CCFC ladies however deserve our support and I will get there to do that if I can.
In my new spirit of togetherness I've modified my post.
Not surprising though is it? Supporting an event on the day of the match is going to clearly cause supporter divisions.
I wonder for Italia and sky blue John will I'm turn modify their tone and stop sniping at Sixfields attendees. Lets see shall we?
Where do the supporters team now play? Do they still play in the mornings of the game or has that changed?
Surely get loads down to there, imagine these lads having thousands cheering them on and then people still can do what they want after.
Lol...
I'm just surprised a peaceful protest idea at trying to gain more media attention has got Nick's, Torch's and your knickers in a twist !!

Recent home games have been at the Moathouse, Winston Avenue CV2 1EQ on the all weather pitch Nick. Usually morning of the game if playing away games but home fixtures are on a Saturday. No game this weekend though.
The lads would love any support that people can give.......... the squad give up a lot of their own time for this and pay most of the costs themselves, only sponsorship has come from the Sky Blue Trust.
I personally think if the Trust sponsor them already it is a bit of a better cause than the ladies at the Ricoh. They are after all representing CCFC fans and it isn't forcing a choice.
Just an idea though, I don't think anybody could fault that as an idea could they?
A few points in general response:
1. The proposal represents a consensus of Sky Blues Trust members at last night's meeting, therefore should not be seen as Trust Board policy. I have posted it here as I and others at that meeting think it's a good idea.
2. If attendance at the Ladies game in Coventry is greater than the crowd at Sixfields at approximately the same time, it will send a very loud message to all responsible for this mess that they need to resolve their differences and sort this out. Sisu/ACL/CCC but in particular the Football League who have the ultimate responsibility for sanctioning the move to Northampton will surely take notice of such an outcome, even if they do nothing immediately as a result.
3. In less than 3 weeks (1 week after the game) it will be the anniversary of the club leaving the Ricoh so this is a very timely opportunity to express our dissatisfaction with the situation while at the same time supporting the Ladies who genuinely deserve a decent turnout.
4. Almost a year after CCFC left the Ricoh, still no land purchased for a new stadium! A good time therefore for the Trust Board to go back to the Football League and ask what they are doing to get our club back to Coventry, can they re-consider the decision to allow Sixfields to be used. The weight of argument from a big turnout at the Ricoh for the Ladies game can only help in these arguments.
5. The 'WHY?' campaign has never been targeted at just Sisu. We all have our views on where most blame lies, however few of us would claim that any of the 'usual suspects' is entirely blameless, therefore the campaign is aimed at all those responsible.
6. Attending a game at the Ricoh does not endorse ACL /CCC in anyway. It seems bizarre for a majority of supporters to say that we want CCFC to be playing there, but not to take a good opportunity to watch a Coventry City team in an important cup game because that looks like taking sides. Speaking personally, if Sixfields attenders want to go to watch the Port Vale game as usual, I respect your choice even if I disagree with it, same as every match. The difference is that I will be at the Ricoh rather than on the Hill as normal.
I think that it is quite naive to be unable to see how it isn't endorsing ACL / CCC (or at least looks that way).
Also, the anniversary is of which date? The last game at the Ricoh was mid April wasn't it or was it the announcement?
What has happened after the charity game as this was the same thing wasn't it?
But didn't cov finish the fixtures because ACL allowed them to play there for free until the end of the 12/13 season? I wouldn't count moving offices out as the day, but hey I follow the football team, I couldn't give a toss where they do the paperwork! Also how much media attention do you consider this could possibly achieve? I'm curious, because the way it is being described it will be earth shattering! Considering the whole of the football world knows that crowds are larger away than at home, as it has happened all year, I fail to see how anyone bar say the CET & the local fan's forums would give a toss! Maybe it would get a nod on the CWR commentary, but so what. No unfortunately sisu only understand one language - money. That means not attending matches. Don't they get a portion of away game money as well ?
How is it bizarre?
It is alienating a section of the fans the trust represent but again your take is "oh well".
The only way to make big things happen is to get people agreed and together rather than causing more "splits".

It doesn't cause anymore splits. Those going to Sixfields will most likely carry on as normal. It just gives an opportunity for those of us who don't - the vast majority - to do something active rather than passive, while watching some decent football, in an excellent stadium.
As I posted earlier, 'Sixfields' fans in attendance last night did not voice any concerns. In fact, one well-known person among their number praised the effectiveness of the 'WHY?' campaign and (as I recall) thought it was worth repeating in ACL's home!
I just think for it to be big then nobody should be excluded and it should bring fans together rather than divide.
Interesting point Nick, so using your logic it is equally quite naive to be unable to see how going to Sixfields isn't endorsing Sisu (or at least looks that way).

You could say that Nick's argument = it is OK for Sixfields attendees to 'alienate' the rest of us by going into the ground, but we are not allowed to alienate Sixfields crowd by doing something worthwhile at the Ricoh. By the way, I don't feel alienated by them, and I don't suppose the grown-ups among their number will feel alienated by what we do.
Nick,
Coventry City Ladies team are associated with our City and our team by name. They still play in Coventry, I don't see why people shouldn't support them.
As a large section of our fan base aren't going to Sixfields, for a whole host of reasons, this has been suggested as something some people may like to attend.
Personally anything that promotes support for a team who represent Coventry I think is a good thing.
If you have a problem fine, that's up to you. It doesn't surprise me as anything you can link to ACL, CCC or the Ricoh you have a problem with? Which I note seems to include certain posters.

Fuck me the way people go on about this whole thing, we must have been supporting the council every time we bought a ticket for a ccfc match at the Ricoh previously! I didn't realise buying a ticket for a ladies match must mean all the money goes to the council.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a guy standing at the entrance to the Ricoh on the day with a sign saying "do not enter if you are a real fan" ....... maybe even some standing on the hill next to the a444?
I really would not have an issue if people said "do what you want, but I will be attending sixfields because I want to watch the team". Bravo sir, that is your choice and it is respected. I can't help but feel the "divide" is fueled by constant attacks on anything against attending sixfields.
I love how it is "us and them" but there is no divide
What are you talking about? I am talking about the Trust alienating it's members when doing a protest and making them choose where to go rather than doing "neutral" things.
You really do exasperate me Nick with some of your baffling comments and general stance on anything to do with SISU/ACL. How you think a CCFC ladies match at the Ricoh is somehow endorsing ACL and alienating fans is beyond my understanding.
As stated by Lamtara, it should be taken for what it is, an opportunity to go and watch a Coventry team in Coventry and give them some support. If you think that’s alienating fans then surely you’ll agree that fans attending Sixfields is also alienating fans, something that you don’t appear to have a problem with.
I’d be interested to hear why you would think this game would cause more splits and how getting people together and agreed is the only thing that is going to make things happen. In my opinion, no action or protest past, present and future is going to make things happen – including the ladies game - in terms of us returning to the Ricoh. In my view, the only way CCFC will return to the Ricoh is when SISU have exhausted all their avenues with nowhere to turn or have left the scene.
I didn't say there was no divide, it would be ridiculous to deny it exists. However, I don't try to prevent people going into Sixfields or abuse them for doing so. Those of us that choose not to go to Sixfields also should have the same right to enjoy a game at the Ricoh and make our point while doing so. To suggest that we are thereby creating or worsening division is nonsense.
And I repeat: the idea comes from a group of Trust Members, I am not representing it as Trust Board policy. Those present at the Squirrel last night had a very cordial and constructive discussion despite being a mix of those who go and don't go to Sixfields.
Do you go to see them a lot in Bedworth then?
If the trust were arranging things at Sixfields it would be exactly the same but in reverse. It is alienating fans because it is making them choose and putting them in that position. Even now people who go to sixfield are "they".
How do fans attending Sixfields alienate the fans who don't go in? Are those fans supporters groups who represent their members?
No. I have a 1 year old daughter, the mrs works every other saturday, and every so often I have to work weekends. Did I say I was going to the ladies match?
Most people know SISU are bellends and while the Trust rose above it they came out the "bigger man". Does nobody else thing it will ruin that?
