Hi All
I'm a new on here but have been following this board for at least a year so am familiar with all the posters and politics.
Big CCFC fan - been following since I was 3, which was unfortunately the year AFTER we won the cup.
I've been watching with interest at the Trust Protests, which I feel have done us a great deal of good in shedding light onto a situation which was previously totally ignored by the media. (It's such a boring subject with many confusing aspects we have to make it interesting in order for it to provide good news stories, which is essentially all that they're interested in). In my opinion, the statue was a good move, so were the black balloons. However, I think we need to start maximising the impact we have on our audience otherwise if we keep popping up with little protests everywhere we will become omnipresent and it will dilute the impact - for example the protest in Northampton last week. Incidentally, this was described by the trust as a 'FlashMob' but was no way a FlashMob which is almost like a live piece of theatre than a small gathering of people. I do think a flash mob is a great idea but would need significant thought, organisation, and a big crowd.
Anyway, I digress - my point is...
I think we should target the one or all of the exhibition games that the Football League are using to Promote their 125th anniversary and beaming around the world with a protest against them. If we are able to do this in an irreverent way then we'll embarrass them, put pressure on them, and get our message to the watching world.
In my opinion this should be done with one slogan and it must be short, sharp, funny (if possible) and informative. Some of our slogans are too long and boring and there are too many being thrown around for any to gather momentum.
Be good to hear your thoughts and also whether you think this might be a goer.
