Here you go pop-pickers. 50 questions over 3 posts. Edit your posts so all your answers are in one post and I'll mark and post the answers at 5pm.

I'll resign after this one but if someone else wants to carry on I'd be glad to answer.

2. I was born in 1863 and by 1896 I became first in line to become an Emperor after my cousin killed himself and my father died. However there remains some doubt that I actually did the deed for which I’m famous.

4. Born in Wales in 1926, she worked as an escort and nightclub hostess. She started an affair with David Blakely in 1953. In 1955 she shot him six times, killing him and also injuring a bystander from a ricochet. She was hanged.

5. Born in 1955, he became obsessed with the novel ‘The Catcher in The Rye’ and contemplated killing several celebrities, including: Jonny Carson; Elizabeth Taylor and Ronald Reagan. I feel appalled at knowing No 25 but can't come up with an answer for two in the lyrics round. Recognise the 'rainbow' lyric, can see the guys face but can't remember the song title.

Want you to know ya,
Can you, can you, can you understand?’ Sun is Shining – Bob Marley

10. ‘You spurn my natural emotions
You make me feel I'm dirt and I'm hurt
And if I start a commotion
I run the risk of losing you and that's worse’ Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone) - Buzzcocks

Situation Comedy

Identify the situation comedy from the descriptions:

11. Set in a Devon town. One of the recurring minor characters was The Major, who once opined that German women were ‘good card players’ Fawlty Towers

12. Three men and a woman live together on a remote island. All of the men have been banished there for misdemeanours – the eponymous character for letting some money ‘rest’ in his bank account. Father Ted

13. Timothy is a librarian who lives at home with his mother Phyllis and father Sidney. One of the running ‘gags’ of the series is Sidney frequently shouting "Language, Timothy!" when he feels Timothy has said something inappropriate. Sorry!

14. Shown on Channel 4 between 1990 and 1998, it was set in the offices of Globelink – a company owned by Sir Roysten Merchant. The show was recorded close to the transmission to permit contemporary news events to be included. Drop the Dead Donkey

15. Starting on the radio before moving to TV, this show followed the adventures of Howard Moon; Vince Noir; Naboo and Bollo the gorilla. The Mighty Boosh

Food

16. Which fruit is the main ingredient of the Mexican dish guacamole? Avacado

17. Which dish is used by the French as a pejorative term for the English? Roast Beef (they call us rosbifs)

18. What kind of bread is left to ferment for several days before baking, using a lactobacillus culture in combination with yeasts? Sourdough

19. What common ingredient is used to make peas into mushy peas? (It’s actually really easy to make). Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)

20. What is the difference between Sushi and Sashimi? Sushi has rice; sashimi does not – it’s just raw fish.

cheers Trench, far better than that awful facebook quiz i do with the missus sometimes. I think the questions are devised by a panel of hairdressers

Haha - I only picked up on your name as I've finally decided to watch the I'm Alan Partridge series on Netflix. Was so so about him originally, but I'm really into it now - my wife has to stay away as she has a phobia of him and Rob Bryden !!!

Thanks for doing these @mrtrench - maybe we could make it a regular thing in the future for charities?
Something like the winner picks the designated charity for the next round.
I’m happy to get involved with future questions

Great, look forward to your first one. :) I was running out of things I know and having to google more and more.

Really enjoyed that. Little embarrassed I guessed Kylie for Buzzcocks :D And thought Boosh but never seen it and thought it’d be an older one like the rest.

That Facebook quiz I mentioned earlier is on again tonight. One of the questions was

"what is the maximum break in snooker?"
Did they argue between 147 & 155? :)
