What position are the rugby club in at the Butts?

I heard a rumour a couple of months ago about Cov Utd buying into the Butts, it came from one of their players, dont know how true that is, maybe having the rug pulled from under them also!

Everyone in the room is in favour of a joint letter tomorrow to CCC for more info to be available to everyone to Cov Rugby, CCFC & the Trust

Is CJ only posting the sense making comments tonight? Not even one asking about when we are signing Ronaldo (and not even a piss take)

All of a sudden the fans opinion is important to SISU. I can't help but get the feeling that they need us more than we need them at the moment.

Couldn't care. More important things at stake than settling old scores now I think.

Some really interesting stuff coming out of this meeting now. A united front between CCFC and Cov RFC? I fear it's all too late. Horse has bolted. Anne Lucas wins.

It's a ridiculous though this;

Fisher: Is there anything anyone can do John?

Why is he saying this now? Sisu kept quiet on this for 2 whole weeks. Like I said at the time, the club only needed to come out and state they wanted to stay at the Ricoh and many of us would have given full backing to that.

Fisher coming across as a desperate, lost little school boy.

And it was only last week his boss was saying they had no interest. If they could all get their stories straight it would be a start.

They are just as much to blame in this Wasps thing, because they kept completely schtum and only on Friday did Joy pass any comment. And then when she did, it was exactly what we didn't want to hear.

Like Ferret says, may be too late now. As much as people hate the owners, I do think they would have had backing on this if they had just come out and said they wanted to stay at the Ricoh!

On the contrary, he'd be laughing. All the stick he received about Sixfields and there he is sat in front of the same people who dished it out now gleeful at the prospect of another historic club being ripped from its supporters. Who is there representing us tonight? Shame on them.

Exactly. Even some on here are sharing the half a brain with them.

I have to admit John Fletcher has come across well this evening, it's never to late, no deal is done yet.

@CJ_covblaze: Floor: Joy has said they aren't interested with the Ricoh and ACL are under the impression CCFC will be leaving so what else can they do?

I wouldn't be so sure, Otis. Many would rather see the club fail that give anything to SISU. You can see by comments on here and the CT forum. There's genuine glee at the Wasps deal from quite a few. Saying that CCFC should have done this anyway, they don't need us to say "go on do it".

@CJ_covblaze: Floor: You asked us if we'd support a move to a different ground. We can't give an answer unless we know where it is

Stuart Cosgrove: Wasps coming here should not be allowed to happen. End of.
John Fletcher: Wasps and Wimbledon are very similar. Seems the RFU are happy for it to happen.
Fisher: Cov can't decide if the Wasps move is a positive or negative one for them

Well played Stuart Cosgrove and John Fletcher.

Not so well played Tim Fisher (shocker!)

@CJ_covblaze: Fisher: We need to know how to manage if Wasps take over the ground. Can the pitch cope? Will our games take primacy?

Just a quick off topic post to state that Cov Bees have made it to the Grand Final of the Speedway

Which explains why CCFC haven't said anything. It seems CCC/ACL haven't informed them of anything if even who takes primacy hasn't been discussed.

Again, why is he asking these questions now? Why after 2 weeks of nothingness? And why to another bunch of people in a pub who are also not in the know?

Surely if they need primacy it will be in the contract they've just singed with ACL? I think this kind of thing is distracting from the bigger issues. Is Fisher trying to sidetrack people by getting them whipped up about things that can easily be resolved (already been said tonight that Wasps have said they will play Sundays to keep Saturdays free and other clubs share without a problem), easier than having to answer questions about the new ground or why they aren't trying to buy the Ricoh.

Did either of those get an answer from Fisher?

Sisu should have made a statement the moment the Wasps talks were in the press.

They could have easily come out, shown their disappointment and asked these questions then as to what it meant for CCFC. They could have also very easily approached the Trust and the supporters group and John Fletcher, Les Reid or anyone they thought who might have put more meat on the bones.

Crazy.
