I remember an Asian kid in my sons football year and probably one of if not the best player in Cov at the time. He was overlooked by the academy and ended up at Cov boys as did James Collins funnily enough. I think he became a doctor so not a bad career move.Id imagine for players black lads are more likely to suffer from positive racism as well “big strong powerful” etc.
It’s not all racism, lots of cultural reasons why Asian kids don’t go into sport as well. But those that do feel they have serious barriers to overcome.
Fair fucking play to youTell you what
I used to be on the wrong side of this argument , I genuinely did .
People know me I say exactly what I think on here and rarely leave my feelings in my head where I should .
It actually took me to be in a stadium , watching our black and mixed race players line up and hearing some boos and I actually felt sorry for them because its ridiculous in all honesty .
I said I would sit back sip my coffee and eventually it would go away ... when actually at blackpool I found myself clapping and cheering when they took the knee .
Then this happens to dabo and for some reason it became more real to me , and that's because its now close to home , a player I idolise who wears sky blue .. suddenly its all a bit different ... such a good, hard working model professional being made to feel like shit , being made to feel like a second class citizen and that's not on
No point being fake , no point carrying on the charade to fit in with your mates and their opinions ... just back them
And listen , I had a fucking horrendous upbringing, and I'm constantly learning in this wonderful thing called life .. I'm.about to inbox dubed and apologise ... we are all humanPUSB .

Was speaking to a Chinese lad on my level one. Being able to do that was a big reason he was studying over here. They don't have anything like that in China so I suppose when you don't even have the most basic level of coaching you aren't going to churn out many decent footballers. They just don't have the infrastructure over there, combined with the fact that cricket is the national sport. Football is hugely popular as a spectacle I believe, but there is next to no actual footballing infrastructure to take advantage of it.
Up Coundon Park there are specialist days where all Asian teams play each other and there are shit loads of teams. A majority of my Asian friends never did sport after school and supported Man U or Arsenal when the Gunners were good. Two are regular mad Cov fans. When I played Sunday league (long time ago) there were no Asian players but loads of Asians at school. The black kids who played were few and far between but usually really good. I wonder if its an integration thing. Also sport being a way out for black kids but the professions the answer for Asian kids. Crass generalisation, I know. The Asian kids all went to specialist Desi all dayers while the white kids went to pubs and clubs. The black kids in my street were going out when we were going home. Specialist Asian religious Academies have not helped. If the Asian community was fully integrated it would help, but they are still somewhat together apart if that makes sense. The lack of asian footballers is strange. Having been involved in grass roots football most of my life there were never many Asian lads in the local teams. There are a few teams that contain all Asian lads. Maybe asian lads don’t feel like they’d be included in dressing rooms or on team nights out because of their differing culture? This is pure speculation as I’ve never spoken to anyone as to why this is the case.
Scouts aren’t out watching all-Asian teams unfortunately so they may not even spot the players with loads of potential. It’s a very interesting, multi faceted conversation that probably deserves a thread of its own to be honest
I think you would be shocked how much racist right wing recruiters exist in the (so called) sink estates in Coventry. The free Tommy Robinson graffitti didn't appear out of thin air. It is a serious child protection issue.Worth putting in to Ofsted that.
I remember the days when bananas were thrown at Cyril Regis and NF recruiters that were stopping everyone when I went away to Elland Road.Tell you what

In his defense, he was being cool. The rest can do one. Cheers though pal. Plenty on here taking the side of the geezer chucking vile stuff about but throwing shit at the guy offended. Bizarre behaviour. But lot's on here don't have their own minds and follow popular opinions. Why because he has a disabled family member and finds the word spastic disgusting as do I.
as has been said previously all forms of discrimination are out of order but some on here are either very two faced or just like the attention of playing for the current political side but dont practice what they preach.
From attending football coaching with my son for the last ~8 years, I would estimate that there are at least 30% south Asian kids on those courses. It puzzles me how that hasn’t (yet?) translated into representation within the professional game. I’d guess that in 5-10 years there will be more as 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants grow up in our country and do ‘the things we do’.Without a rational explanation they clearly are so it’s to work out why and what steps need to be put in place to rectify it
Regarding the last comment, it makes your whole paragraph of drivel null and void. You're supporting and 'fighting with' somebody that has deeply offended people by making a discriminatory comment. Hypocrisy at its finest. Very strange behaviour.Tell you what

No. What's wrong with him saying he will stand up to racists?WHAT IS THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE? DISCRIMINATION IS DISCRIMINATION!! ARe you winding me up?
because he condones and 'fights with' the discrimination of disabled people. ClownNo. What's wrong with him saying he will stand up to racists?
Where did he say that?because he condones and 'fights with' the discrimination of disabled people. Clown
Read the last sentence of his post. Imagine if a person called someone a racist name, - would they stand and fight with them?! Wow!!!Where did he say that?
He doesn't though does he.because he condones and 'fights with' the discrimination of disabled people. Clown
Reading it I don’t think he’s condoning anything. He’s tagged Hill and made a comment about fighting racists. I don’t think he’s referencing the horrid comment Hill madeRead the last sentence of his post. Imagine if a person called someone a racist name, - would they stand and fight with them?! Wow!!!
He read enough to know what's going on in the this post. Don't justify him. Bizarre acceptance of discriminatory behaviour on a post about discrimination! WOw!He doesn't though does he.
Hill said it in the heat of the moment and he was wrong and he apologised. I hate that word too. We all know Hill has black heritage. He didn't know about the disability in your family. That's not excusing it by any means though.
bull shit, look at his passive aggressive reply. He knew what he was saying.Reading it I don’t think he’s condoning anything. He’s tagged Hill and made a comment about fighting racists. I don’t think he’s referencing the horrid comment Hill made

Without wanting to fall down the route of "I've got black friends" I'm a literal carer at the match for my disable dad.
