Thought Clarke was poor. Some poor distribution and he was turned at least twice too easliy. T

Murphy -7-Kept us in the game at 1-1
Christie-7-Generally did well and supported Baker well, but his confusion with Baker caused the goal
Keogh-7-Loved his driving runs near the end and both centre halves managed to keep Mccormack quiet for the majority of the game which is no mean feet
Cranie-7
Clarke-7-Struggled at time but considering he is playing out of position after a long lay off and up against one of the best wingers in the division in Snodgrass I think he did ok
Deegan-7-Showed glimpses of quality on the ball and battled and harried the opposition all night
Norwood-9-Master class first half, thought I was watching Paul Scholes play at times
Mcsheff-8- Not sure how he managed to keep his composure at the end
Baker-7- Seems to come in to games later on as opposition defenders become desperate with their challenges, should have scored from the move of the match
Platt-8- Huge performance from the big man tonight, those last 15 mins when the game could have gone either and we had to keep the pressure off, he held up the ball brilliantly and the Leeds defence couldn't get near the ball
Nimely-9- Fantastic performance, forget the miss this guy was the match winner. He had the Leeds defence tied in knots all night

MOTM- can't decide between Nimely and Norwood

Well done to AT, team selection and formation was spot on tonight. Hope he isn't tempted to go back to the diamond when the likes of Clingan and Thomas return.

This can be the start of something special.

Platt was MoM - held the ball up so well allowed us to create so much in the final third Nimley and Keogh was also excellent with Norwood showing his potential and Deegan have a very solid game. Carl Baker wasdisappointing gets in to good positions but final ball is poor, Clarke did better than I expected but was at fault for leeds nearly scoring in the second half

Very fair, Keogh was just immense as usual, can't believe we've managed to keep him this long! Sheffs took both penalties well. Platt won the ball and held it up for everyone and Nimely ran his little socks off! Baker had a dreadful game for me.

Whilst agrreing with most of the above, one point I would make about Clarke is that on the way home I said how disappointing Snodgrass was - in fact, almost anonymous........for which a lot of credit should go to Clarke, who was out of position, and only just back from injury.
Massive plaudits to Murphy for his save from McCormack which kept the score at 1 - 1, and many thanks to Redfearn for taking McCormack off!

Forgot to say, it was actually Platt who played the ball up the line to Nimely to go on the run that won the penalty.......Platt MoM for me

Lest we forget we don't get them often but 10/10 for the ref tonight ,there were plenty of fouls and he just got on with it ,no histrionics /cards bandied around ,let it run lke the mans game it should be .

Completely agree, he wasn't brilliant by any stretch of the imagination, made a few mistakes and gave the ball away once or twice but all in all did a job for the team and kept snodgrass quiet. We know he struggles at left back and it was only his second start after a long lay off, I think he was worth a 6.

His distribution was also good,he did'nt do bad after a lengthy lay off and out of position ,and Baker while making a couple of errors must be low on confidense after having a run in the side of around four games over christmas where he showed some decent form ,only to get dropped and no reserve games to keep sharp,so given the team performance i reckon we should allow them a couple of sevens

Christ I gave him a 1/10. Our block spent a good 15 minutes 2nd half pretty much constantly screaming at him!

I thought Baker did just fine. Some of his dribbling and trickery was superb, a return to his early days with us, and I loved the way he every so often just dropped the tempo to walking pace as men ran off the ball. And some of his one-touch passing was immaculate, especially 1st half when linking with Deegan on give-and-go's. The only thing he didn't do was score when in a position he'd made through his own skill, or shoot when he tried to play Cyrus in instead (looked a bit knackered by then). In general, I'd say Baker played bloody well!

Same goes for Clarke: got better as the game went on, was very clever in using his right-footednes to his advantage when taking up angles, and played Snodgrass superbly for a bloke out of position who is probably 7-8 games off full fitness.

Remember how long it took King to get match fit without a pre-season? I think Jordan has earned that level of patience and tolerance from us a darn sight more, especially when considering the so very differing circumstances of the cause of absence.

There was something special about Christie's performance tonight, too. He didn't do anything stunning, but his all-round game was superb. I particularly loved one pass first half from RB to Sheff on the LW touchline. He's done that before. Also the one run where he chased a ball that he had no right to get near, and the Leeds man just couldn't live with his pace and determination and had to simply find touch. It was just a more complete performance from Cyrus, more solid. Like he came of age as a footballer tonight somehow.

Yep ,yo're right and also about the fullbacks playing more withdrawn tonight ,meaning less exposure ,ican only remember Keogh covering at RB once tonight ,where it could be 5-6 in other games .

Sammy out of the way also allowed "Franz" Keogh to carry the ball out of defence more. Actually rather than German, the man plays like a Dutch total footballer. I want to see more of those marauding runs, he's bloody unstoppable! :D

Surprisingly he is probably one of the quickest in the championship!
Cyrus is defiantly up there!

Some of his one touch passing was truly dreadful. Gave the ball away on many, many occasions.

We had some pace last night for a change, in Nimely, Christie and Clarke. With Norwood and Deegan being nippy around the ball too it gives us more options.

I thought Platt was outstanding last night, did everything I want a centre forward to do except score. He held the ball up, brought other into the game. I would say that was one of his best performances for the City

For me Platt was MOM - was the best I have seen from him. Work rate, commitment, got his body in the way, showed some nice touches, held the ball up well, linked well with Nimely etc ..........

Would also give Nimely extra praise because in his interview in the "Yorkshire" afterwards he revealed that he hadnt trained all week had swollen ankle and knee. He hadnt even been sure he could play yesterday morning. Worryingly he was limping badly after the match

Thought Norwood did well - showed how to make a good forward pass - I dont think we missed Clingan at all

A good performance all round. We pressed the ball higher up the pitch, got forward quicker, played our football around the halfway line not our penalty box (is that a product of Clingan not playing ?). Because the midfield and defence played higher up the pitch that meant our front two were not isolated and we carried more of a threat.

Lastly I have got to be fair to AT and say he got the team playing right last night and no complaints about there being no subs used.

Yes what a performance last night truly magnificent - the commitment, desire and sheer exuberance of the players clearly shone through and will surely follow through to Saturday against Forest.

Big Clive was a revelation constantly closing down on their defence whilst winning most headers, flick ons, "chestdowns", lay offs, you name it Plattini did it.

My only concern is the inevitable injury list piling up becoming even more critical with players throwing their bodies into lost causes risking further knocks and strains.

Incidentally AT's win ratio has now climbed to 19% let's hope it's 22% on Saturday.

I have been continually frustrated with clingan going sideways or backwards, which makes us play deeper. Players continually have to check their runs when clingan is on the ball, and eventually stop making the runs as they know its going backwards. Have said before he would be no loss to us the way he has played this season.

Platt was superb, played his best game for us last night.......... my mind is still struggling to understand GTs comments about Platt
