How many of those attempts were once we were already 3-0 down? Easy to stat pad against a side who are in cruise control.

This 100%. I don’t believe anyone who actually watched that game thought we were ever in it. All well and good looking at the stats when Cardiff had to do nothing but sit on a 3-0 win for 45 minures

I thought we started brightly and certainly before that first sloppy goal we were very much in it. As usual we didn't have that extra quality to create clear chances early on. I certainly didn't think on the balance of it that we deserved to go into the break 2-0 down. I felt we could have got back into it if we had scored the next goal but then we're a sleep for the quick free-kick and then it was game over. I don't think it was our worst performance of the season but crucial mistakes at crucial times cost us.

67% possession 20 attempts only 5 on target saves city 0 Cardiff 4
Unfortunately goals 3 - 1
Stupidly low marks again, knee jerk reactions , of course we could have done better , but don't press the panic button yet , and for god's sake don't start getting on the lads backs if we lose the next couple.
At 3-0 after 46 mins we had 66% possession, 6 shots and 0 on target. Our possession was so high at this point because Cardiff let us pass it around the back

Its easy to have a go when the game has already been lost.

We were in it until their disallowed goal, then we did what we always do and got nervous, pulled 9 men behind the ball and back to 30 yards from goal, and isolated the front two, one of which was clearly playing his first ever game of football.

To be fair I did think about the 10, but didn’t wanna get accused of being in the cult. Simply brilliant.

It's always disappointing to get beat. Also disappointing to see the usual suspects using a defeat to put the boot into a player (Max) they clearly have an inbuilt agenda against. I'll never understand why some of our supporters are so desperate to deride and seem to actually want some of our players to fail.

As for Max. Maybe you lads should try playing against an elite defence, up front on your own whilst carrying an injury (for the good of the team). Max's intended role this season is as 3rd or 4th striker and to make an impact in certain games. He's been carrying the line on his own for weeks as God and Walker have long term injuries. But let's ignore these facts and make derisory comments on an Internet forum eh?

Didn’t actually make derisory comments. They were sarcastic. Didn’t take long for someone to come and make sure he was played the victim though. No doubt fantastic today? Don’t know how many times I need to say it, I don’t want to rate him poorly. He was dreadful for probably the 15th time this season today. But instead “we’re sticking the boot in”

Unfortunately it is true that some people have an agenda. Biamou was not the worst player on the pitch today and yet his name inevitably will be brought up in a sarcastic way. He wears the shirt with pride and gives it his all. How many players with more quality have we had who we wished had as much commitment to the club?

If he's carrying an injury perhaps Gyo should have started. Like he should have started last week probably.

Marosi 4 Got the Burge virus today.

McCallum 5 Still got time to improve but the Championship is a step to far at the minute.

DaCosta 6 Better and more threatening than his counterpart on the other side of the defence.

Ostigard 5 Sold himself down the river for Cardiff’s 1st and didn’t really recover. Should have also scored with the header.

Hyam 5 Gets an extra point for his goal but mentally weak switching off for the quick free kick. Unforgivable at this level.

Rose 5 I remember him struggling at the start of the season before his injury-that seems to have carried on now he is back in the team. Done some sort of ballet dance near the back post for the 2nd goal.

Hamer 4 You don’t have to do it all on your own mate-well perhaps he looks around him and thinks he should!

Allen 5 Didn’t really have an influence or impact on proceedings.

O’Hare 6 Took some rough treatment but didn’t hide and got on with it. Our best player today but that wasn’t difficult.

James 6 Didn’t embarrass himself either.

Biamou 4 It is what it is but again missed a reasonable chance that may have got us back in the game from 5-6 yards. Cardiff had Moore and we had Max.......

Subs-

Walker 6 At least looked a threat.

MacFadzean 5

Victor/Shipley N/a

Robins 6 Maybe should have made changes at HT but his talk had then gone out of the window with Cardiffs 3rd goal 2-3 minutes into the 2nd half. The game is then dead so is it really worth putting Tom, Dick and Harry on who will have no impact anyway? A horror show from start to finish by all I’m afraid.

of course he’s committed to the club unlike those with quality we are the only idiots who keep offering him new contracts

Call it what you want. Derision. Sarcasm. It all amounts to the same thing.

It's a consistent attempt by the usual suspects knock our third striker who has been playing through an injury for the good of the team. Do you think it's reasonable to be so critical of a player who is playing through an injury?

Not sure why you think that such constant criticism is helpful to the player or the team.

In terms of having the last laugh - Max is out there playing as a professional in the Champ.......something I guess you haven't achieved or would not even have a remote understanding of what it takes.....as you hide behind your keyboard typing out sarcasm for cheap laughs?

This is genuinely ridiculous. I’d happily give my identity. I’ve said nothing personal. By your token I hope you have never criticised anyone with a skill set above yours in any environment. He seems a great guy, for the hundredth time. He isn’t anywhere near a championship footballer. That is it. Except it isn’t because you’ll come back frothing at the mouth.

I like Max but there’s no way to defend him today. Having said that he’s not at fault for the loss. No-one could be singled out today as they were all as bad as each other (with respect to Allen & Mc Fadz who tried but couldn’t work alone)

I thought Allen & James were ok but what happened in front & behind them was not good enough.

I like Max but today I saw a distinct lack of closing down the opposition keeper and back line.

The 5 sub rule should be taken advantage of and used as tactic.

I’m not being controversial when I say that sprinting at the keeper to try to win every backpass will give the keeper less time.

As a result, the keeper is less likely to pick the right kick and deliver it properly or even might make a mistake under pressure. Defenders too - chase them into making a mistake, don’t let them settle.

Max wasn’t doing a lot of sprinting on the chase down.

I’d rather he had 45 minutes at flat out and get subbed at half time than conserve energy for 90.

5 subs Robins. Get tactical.
