Someone needs to teach O’Hare how to kick a ball off the ground
My brother pointed it out to me earlier in the season and it’s so obvious when you look out for it. He will always avoid going for aerial crosses or shots from outside the area. He doesn’t back himself to do it.Glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this!
I don't think he's capable of playing a cross field ball, or hitting one in the corner I think it'd barely make it into the box.
(and before anyone jumps on me, I'm not saying he's shit, he's clearly one of our best players).

I don't think he's capable of playing a cross field ball, or hitting one in the top corner. I think if he took a corner it'd barely make it into the box.
(and before anyone jumps on me, I'm not saying he's shit, he's clearly one of our best players).
I would agree, Shipley was very quiet, surely Allen would have given much needed drive and energy? Can’t think why he wasn’t brought on at half time, might have given us a better foothold in the game at the start of the half.Baffling that we're still trying the failed Shipley as a 10 experiment. We should have cashed in on him when we had the chance instead of letting him go for nothing in the summer and played Allen who we just gave a multi-year extension to.
The frustrating thing is that O'Hare can strike the ball well. Some of his goals during the promotion season were well hit. For some reason he can't seem to now. Must be partly confidence.Gyokeres and Moore the only two to play well for 90 minutes.
Sheaf had his worst game for months and still contributed more than some.
Hamer needs to stop thinking he’s Toni Kroos and simplify things sometimes.
Someone needs to teach O’Hare how to kick a ball off the ground so he’s not terrified to shoot or cross the ball.
Maatsen looked like a player who has barely played for months. Kane looked injured and Bidwell, well, he was there I guess.
His offside goal was a great finishThe frustrating thing is that O'Hare can strike the ball well. Some of his goals during the promotion season were well hit. For some reason he can't seem to now. Must be partly confidence.
9th but the cutoff is 37 games for 10 so sure the two game suspension will come soon enough.Vik is a monster and clear motm. Back 3 solid performances. The others ran around and did ok, just need that composure in front of goal. Sheaf was hampered by early booking that meant he couldn't put his foot in.
Also, not seen it mentioned or by Robins, but wasn't that Hamers 10th booking? If so does he miss one or two games having served a suspension for the five games?
Kane wasn’t bookedMoore 7 - Good assist. Fairly solid.
Kane 5 - Struggled after the yellow. Odd good cross but plenty of naff ones.
Back 3 - 6: JCS was torn to pieces once Bidwell came on. Rose chance was so easy.
Maatsen 6 - Decent. Certainly better than Bidwell.
Sheaf 5 - His worst game for a long time. Looked knackered and nervous after the yellow. The booking was one of 10+ inconsistent refereeing decisions.
Hamer 6 - Some moments of class in the first half, pressed well but that chance at the end was pathetic.
O'Hare 7.5 - His best game for a while. Some lovely touches and turns throughout. A perfect ball for Hamer at the end. Frustrating he finally hit the net with an offside chance. Typical.
Shipley 5 - Passenger as he was last season. Baffling how Allen didn't get a run out.
Gyok 7.5 - I'll be amazed if he's a Coventry player next season. A powerhouse running at defenders.
Bidwell - Worrying already.
Waghorn - Not much to say.
Robins - Baffling not making a third sub.
Referee - Absolutely horredous. Sheer lack of consistency. You could create a compilation of it. Since that Godden penalty, we've been given nothing.
Kane wasn’t booked
No…but he was severely affected by the injustice of it allKane wasn’t booked
His first goal at Oxford away was a belter, but iirc he missed one or two golden opportunities before that. The frustrating thing is that O'Hare can strike the ball well. Some of his goals during the promotion season were well hit. For some reason he can't seem to now. Must be partly confidence.
Thanks. I assume cup games don't count then?9th but the cutoff is 37 games for 10 so sure the two game suspension will come soon enough.
nope, just leagueThanks. I assume cup games don't count then?
Would agree with most of that exceptMoore - 6: Haven’t seen the goal back yet, so not counting that but generally did what was needed. Great assist.
Hyam - 7: Really solid in the air, want to see him doing it in the opponents box at corners.
Rose - 7: Really like him on the ball, very solid defensively
JCS - 7: Solid. Looked tired towards the end like a few.
Kane - 6: Get down the fucking line son. Sits so deep at times.
Maatsen - 6: Thought he had a poor game
Hamer - 7: Overplayed it a few times and hit some awful passes like the others but nice to see him being a goal threat and played some beauties as well.
Sheaf - 6: Passing wasn’t as good as it could be and hampered by the booking. Want to see him do more in the air for his height as well.
O’Hare - 7: Thought he looked dangerous today first half, guilty of overplaying it a few times.
Shipley - 4: Waste of a shirt.
Gyokeres - 8 (MOTM): Took his goal really well and worked their back line brilliantly. Always a threat.
Waghorn - 6: A few nice touches.
Bidwell - 5: Pointless.
Would agree with most of that except
Moore 7 started coming off his line to catch the ball now didn’t really do anything wrong.
Thought you were generous with both Shipley and Bidwell. Shipley was back to his lazy normal non effort and at the moment I am struggling to see what Bidwell brings to this team.
It's starting to really infuriate me. Allen also has got another contract based on his performances at the base of the box midfield. Not at the top. Honestly don't know what Robins expects to happen. I wouldn't back one of our players to score first other than Gyökeres or Godden if you offered me 50/1 every week.Baffling that we're still trying the failed Shipley as a 10 experiment. We should have cashed in on him when we had the chance instead of letting him go for nothing in the summer and played Allen who we just gave a multi-year extension to.
I really hope not. The fans this season may well have influenced players signing new contracts and others to follow - Hamer and Clarke-Salter. It is frustrating how little points we have gained from games we have dominated, but the effort of the team has been incredible all season. The crowd contribute to that. Not necessarily the right thread for it, but I guess I could do it like this:
Crowd - 3. The CBS has often been a fairly miserable place to go, this season it’s been so much better. That said, the moment we went behind tonight it was like the Ricoh of old. So much moaning and getting on the players back. Few frustrating dummies and passages of play etc but the fans turned so quickly having largely been on the front foot for the first half. I hope I’m wrong, but it felt like people saw tonight as a turning point and the playoffs may be out of reach and because everyone’s expectations were so high, frustrations may spill over and it return to the atmosphere of old.

I genuinely cannot remember him striking a ball well on goal since he joined the club. I don't know what they do with him in training in the week. This part of his game hasn't improved at all.His first goal at Oxford away was a belter, but iirc he missed one or two golden opportunities before that.
