Moore got an assist and made a couple of good saves.

Sheaf was done in by being both tired and booked, not his best game.

Hamer was Hamer, missed a sitter.

Fuck knows why we didn't make a third sub with all the tiredness on the pitch.

Officials were bizarre, not consistent at all and made an already boring game even more boring.

Moore 8 - Solid and +1 for his assist
Kane 7 - Best attacking outlet we had today, outside of kicking it straight to Gyokeres, but thought his crossing wasn't quite up to his usual standards and got tired fast.
Hyam 6 - Steady but nothing spectacular today and got done a bit easily for the goal
Rose 6 - Made a mess of the clearance for the goal but some of his mid-range passing into midfield was fantastic today. Early 30 metre passes to feet.
JCS 7 - Best of the defenders again today. Hope we sign him as he looks happy here.
Maatsen 5 - Struggled with bowler and with his composure in the final 3rd
Hamer 8 - played really well today although people will be taking about his golden opportunity at the death.
Sheaf 7 - his early booking limited him today but still knocked some lovely balls around. Could have done better with the pass at the end of some of his driving runs.
O'Hare 6 - involved in every single good one touch move we had but nothing came off for him again around the box.
Shipley 5 - Just not a 10 at this level. His first touch just isn't regularly good enough. The experiment with starting him there has to end.
Gyokeres 7 - Was poor with the ball at his feet before his goal and looked pretty knackered 2nd half. A little too keen to go to ground today for a big man.

Gyokeres and Moore the only two to play well for 90 minutes.

Sheaf had his worst game for months and still contributed more than some.

Hamer needs to stop thinking he’s Toni Kroos and simplify things sometimes.

Someone needs to teach O’Hare how to kick a ball off the ground so he’s not terrified to shoot or cross the ball.

Maatsen looked like a player who has barely played for months. Kane looked injured and Bidwell, well, he was there I guess.

Moore 7 - Good assist. Fairly solid.

Kane 5 - Struggled after the yellow. Odd good cross but plenty of naff ones.
Back 3 - 6: JCS was torn to pieces once Bidwell came on. Rose chance was so easy.
Maatsen 6 - Decent. Certainly better than Bidwell.

Sheaf 5 - His worst game for a long time. Looked knackered and nervous after the yellow. The booking was one of 10+ inconsistent refereeing decisions.
Hamer 6 - Some moments of class in the first half, pressed well but that chance at the end was pathetic.
O'Hare 7.5 - His best game for a while. Some lovely touches and turns throughout. A perfect ball for Hamer at the end. Frustrating he finally hit the net with an offside chance. Typical.
Shipley 5 - Passenger as he was last season. Baffling how Allen didn't get a run out.

Gyok 7.5 - I'll be amazed if he's a Coventry player next season. A powerhouse running at defenders.

Bidwell - Worrying already.

Waghorn - Not much to say.

Robins - Baffling not making a third sub.

Referee - Absolutely horredous. Sheer lack of consistency. You could create a compilation of it. Since that Godden penalty, we've been given nothing.

Glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this!

I don't think he's capable of playing a cross field ball, or hitting one in the top corner. I think if he took a corner it'd barely make it into the box.

(and before anyone jumps on me, I'm not saying he's shit, he's clearly one of our best players).

My brother pointed it out to me earlier in the season and it’s so obvious when you look out for it. He will always avoid going for aerial crosses or shots from outside the area. He doesn’t back himself to do it.

A game of ifs and buts some chances went begging, Shipley should try to emulate Bowlers contribution not convinced still with Bidwell or come to that Waghorn too but a points a point I guess but we need goals coming from midfield and defence sooner rather than later

Did you not see his perfect ball to Gyökeres in the first half? That left the floor.

Baffling that we're still trying the failed Shipley as a 10 experiment. We should have cashed in on him when we had the chance instead of letting him go for nothing in the summer and played Allen who we just gave a multi-year extension to.
I would agree, Shipley was very quiet, surely Allen would have given much needed drive and energy? Can’t think why he wasn’t brought on at half time, might have given us a better foothold in the game at the start of the half.

Moore 7 (did so well for the assist. A couple of decent saves, expected to make)
Kane 6 (lively before tiring but for once too many poor crosses from good positions)
Maatsen 5 (awful first half hour with his clearances and crossing. Actually did a bit better when switched to RWB)
Hyam 7 (solid in the main but could have done better for goal)
Rose 7 (some excellent passes first half shifted defence to attack quickly. Shame he couldn't put the header away)
Clarke-Salter 7 (another battling performance. Looked tired second half)
Sheaf 8 (some great driving runs which he has added to his game, reminded me of Declan Rice. Great engine)
Hamer 9 (thought he was inspired today and maintained that energy. Covered every blade of grass. His range of passing is incredible. It would have been fitting for him to have scored the winner at the end)
Shipley 5 (not very noticeable. Good movement for one chance but didn't put his head on it when he should have)
O'Hare 6 (nice back heel for Hamer chance but lost the ball so frequently. Miles more involved than Shipley but no more end product)
Gyokeres 8 (works his socks off up there. Was having his shirt pulled numerous times and the ref let it go. Great strength for his goal)

Bidwell 6
Waghorn 6

Robins - got them well up for it but did they need to be so cavalier? Why not bring on third sub? Why start Shipley in midfield when he has had multiple chances in that position?)

The frustrating thing is that O'Hare can strike the ball well. Some of his goals during the promotion season were well hit. For some reason he can't seem to now. Must be partly confidence.

Vik is a monster and clear motm. Back 3 solid performances. The others ran around and did ok, just need that composure in front of goal. Sheaf was hampered by early booking that meant he couldn't put his foot in.

Also, not seen it mentioned or by Robins, but wasn't that Hamers 10th booking? If so does he miss one or two games having served a suspension for the five games?

Moore - 6: Haven’t seen the goal back yet, so not counting that but generally did what was needed. Great assist.
Hyam - 7: Really solid in the air, want to see him doing it in the opponents box at corners.
Rose - 7: Really like him on the ball, very solid defensively
JCS - 7: Solid. Looked tired towards the end like a few.
Kane - 6: Get down the fucking line son. Sits so deep at times.
Maatsen - 6: Thought he had a poor game
Hamer - 7: Overplayed it a few times and hit some awful passes like the others but nice to see him being a goal threat and played some beauties as well.
Sheaf - 6: Passing wasn’t as good as it could be and hampered by the booking. Want to see him do more in the air for his height as well.
O’Hare - 7: Thought he looked dangerous today first half, guilty of overplaying it a few times.
Shipley - 4: Waste of a shirt.
Gyokeres - 8 (MOTM): Took his goal really well and worked their back line brilliantly. Always a threat.

Waghorn - 6: A few nice touches.
Bidwell - 5: Pointless.

9th but the cutoff is 37 games for 10 so sure the two game suspension will come soon enough.

His first goal at Oxford away was a belter, but iirc he missed one or two golden opportunities before that.

Not necessarily the right thread for it, but I guess I could do it like this:

Crowd - 3. The CBS has often been a fairly miserable place to go, this season it’s been so much better. That said, the moment we went behind tonight it was like the Ricoh of old. So much moaning and getting on the players back. Few frustrating dummies and passages of play etc but the fans turned so quickly having largely been on the front foot for the first half. I hope I’m wrong, but it felt like people saw tonight as a turning point and the playoffs may be out of reach and because everyone’s expectations were so high, frustrations may spill over and it return to the atmosphere of old.

Would agree with most of that except
Moore 7 started coming off his line to catch the ball now didn’t really do anything wrong.
Thought you were generous with both Shipley and Bidwell. Shipley was back to his lazy normal non effort and at the moment I am struggling to see what Bidwell brings to this team.

Atmosphere has been garbage for a while now. Fair play to Blackpool they were loud considering the numbers. Probably the best we’ve had down here this season without being anything spectacular

It's starting to really infuriate me. Allen also has got another contract based on his performances at the base of the box midfield. Not at the top. Honestly don't know what Robins expects to happen. I wouldn't back one of our players to score first other than Gyökeres or Godden if you offered me 50/1 every week.

I really hope not. The fans this season may well have influenced players signing new contracts and others to follow - Hamer and Clarke-Salter. It is frustrating how little points we have gained from games we have dominated, but the effort of the team has been incredible all season. The crowd contribute to that.

Perhaps expects Shipley to find the top corner every week

I genuinely cannot remember him striking a ball well on goal since he joined the club. I don't know what they do with him in training in the week. This part of his game hasn't improved at all.
