101 on how to beat us … play any balls over 5ft off the ground at our left back, play a high press and wait for our defenders to pass to you and take a shot at Collins from anywhere in our half

I've been a fan of Bassett, thinking he was the answer to our goals, but if you cant beat a keeper on a one on one when you have the advantage of momentum and the keepers static, then I'm afraid you just aren't up to it. You should at his age have a few tricks in your locker, a step over, shimmy, drop of the shoulder disguise something to give you the advantage to send him the wrong way, but he has absolutely nothing and his going to ground at every challenge is now just getting on my nerves.
He proved that he isn’t a natural goal scorer you can’t teach that , you either have it or you don’t.

Total and utter, woeful sh**e, after the first 15 mins.

Collins, MvE, JDS piss poor
Thomas and Binks very marginally better. Improved when Lati came on but couldn’t have got worse

Saka - how on earth he lasted the full 90…., dreadful

Sheaf good 1st half, off it completely in the 2nd. Torp offered nothing all game

EMC and Rudoni both did well in the context of the overall performance

Bassette - sorry, don’t get the hype. No first touch, no right foot, falls over far too easily, too many offsides, poor effort for the 1on1

He's scored 8 first team goals in 2001 minutes which is a goal every 250 minutes over 53 appearances and is a Belgium International at 20 .

He has a big future if coached well
He spent half the game diving on the floor and the other half offside. He has some talent but I have no idea what he’s doing leading the line at the moment, he’s nowhere near ready.

He's going to get himself a reputation that will see him get even less decisions go his way as well, he's not very mature and like you say not ready to lead the line.

I spoke to a knowledgeable Belguim guy last night about Norman. He said he runs around a lot but rarely scores.

For the record the greatest players in history have missed 1v1s

Still no excuse to miss a 1 on 1 to make the game 2-0 against a poor Pompey keeper
In his last season with us Gyokeres should of had scores about 30 goals and not 21, he missed loads of one on ones.

In fact strikers will tell you one on ones are the hardest chances to score. You have too much time and over think the options.
