Amazing how SM and Estrella are regarded as "premium" over here (and at greatly inflated prices!) when over there it's just normal run of the mill lager. Some-one has good Marketing skills! Was going to say it, the dorm is the only place I ever really drink it. I prefer the Red tbh but the green goes down OK. My favourite spanish lager is Cruzcampo, once found a little bar selling it (possibly quite close to the Sol Pelicanos) it is much better than San Miguel / Estrella. Estrella Galicia is good too.
Already a member, so that lets me out!Beer52 offering 8 craft beers (and with Beer52 they should be good quality breweries) for £5.95 (including postage), for new customers only.
Well worth a go, especially if you fancy trying something different.

Generally very happy with the selections, and the accompanying magazines. Had one or two duffers though.
This month's Beer52 Selection Box just turned up. Last month was all Melbourne/Victoria stuff. This month they've stayed mostly UK and Ireland, with a Californian thrown in for good measure.
Always loved the standard cask Jaipur (biased, as we're friends of the couple who own Thornbridge Brewery - they were married in Jaipur, hence the name) but haven't tried this variant yet.
Maybe Friday.View attachment 18599
For tonight, absinthe
battered that the night we got relegated from the Premiership. Nearly got ran over after climbing out the back window of my mates missus car.
For tonight, absinthe
Strictly speaking not a beer so.....
But considering the circumstances it’s fully justified.
Just reminds me of nights/holidays before responsibilities existed and nights out were ridiculously messy!
I've never actually tried it but all I've got in the fridge is Birra Moretti

Not keen on their stuff.
Just now, a Tiny Rebel with added passion fruit.

Get a bottle of Ouzo in as well, that and Absinthe and you’ll have a good night.....
First time on it. Very nice.Haha I have one in my fridge and am planning to enjoy tonight. It’s one of my favourites!
First time on it. Very nice.
Might crack out the ouzo later, now you mention it, but it never tastes the same when not taken on a broiling day overlooking the Aegean.
Roll on the day we can do that again.

Yep, always a free dollop of ouzo to finish. Love Greece. So miss it.Nothing like having a huge dinner for 10 euros with complimentary everything thrown in as well and lovely hosts. Hopefully 2022 it'll be possible.
Klute is great value, quite hard to get hold of in Aldi as it sells quicklyNeighbour very kindly dropped in a few craft ales following today’s result.
Klute by Williams Brothers (from Aldi) was a very pleasant surprise, I was expecting a standard IPA but it has a subtle lemon flavour to it - very nice, and a quick Google tells me it’s only 99p - bargain.
I have also had Lemon Dream by Salopian, which was one of my favourites when I first started drinking ale. Very excited to see it in my local Coop and it still tastes very nice, especially as it’s a cask and I prefer craft these days.
It's Sadlers, I don't think it's brewed there any more as it was bought out by a northern company. The peaky blinders range is cringey. They used to make some decent ale and still do in the form of Mud City Stout, but since the takeover they've been flogging the Peaky horseSome Peaky Blinder pale ale from a brewery in Stourbridge. Not great, should have known better given the gimmicky name.
I wasn't dead keen on it but it isn't badNipped in to get some Klute from Aldi and picked up another I hadn’t seen before; Brut IPA by 10 4 Brewing. Can’t find much about the brewery other than they’re exclusive to Aldi.
Brut IPA is a relatively new concept, but it is as it sounds; beer thats brewed to share similar characteristics to champagne, predominantly to be dry tasting. It won’t be for everyone, but it was surprisingly good, well balanced with the “champagne” flavours coming through in the aftertaste.
Unfortunately I only got to taste half the can before my daughter knocked my glass over. Good excuse to get another for tomorrow!

Not my usual thing but it's really quite pleasant.
