Redevelopment of sixfields (1 Viewer)

Know you lot don't want to play there but thought you might be interested to see what the £12m "state aid" ;-) we are getting from Northampton Borough Council is being spent on:

Finally some sympathy from Northampton for Coventry fans; the views from the new east stand will be as restricted as those on the hill. Restricted views in 2014! Madness. The natives are getting restless with Cardoza: http://www.smfserver.com/forums/thehotelend/index.php/topic,5547.2520.html

Thanks, if it doesn't work out then maybe you would be interested in sharing our new ground. If it is ever built, it is likely to be a lot nearer to Northampton than Coventry.

Fuck me. That is one of the best stands I've ever seen on a football ground. I'm in awe.
Lookout Egypt, we've got a new seventh wonder ready to take your crown.

That would do us actually. Certainly suit a club like ours averaging 11,000 fans in League One.

Sixfields currently holds about 7.5K. I think the redevelopment will increase that capacity by about 1300. How is that going to be OK for club averaging 11,00 fans in League One?

Fuck me if that cost 12 million?
we might be able to afford 2 seats in fishers shed?

That's not great. Surely even in a small stand like that you could avoid a restricted view. Not put much thought in to it have they?

It was originally gonna be more until they barely managed to stay in League football.

Oh dear. If it turns out like that Cardoza will be a laughing stock.

And they wonder why the locals go to Franklins Gardens where 17,000 enjoy top level sport in a superb stadium.

Or, you could go to a 9,500 stadium for 4th division football and see half empty stands. But as you can't see much of the pitch from the other half that's just as well.

Hes had about ten years to plan it and basically went through a smaller scale version of what SISU/CCC have had during that time, except he won the fans over by promising a 12,000 seater stadium rather than alienating them. When he finally got in with a council who were willing to cooperate he decided to spend the developement money on corporate boxes and increase to 8 or 9 thousand (its not clear). Little if any fan input has gone in to this. I suppose the fact he was prepared to do business with SISU and screw you lot was an indication of what this bloke thinks of the average football fan.

That new stand's fine.

Not sure if the paper glue will hold out though with the first gust of wind.

As for the view, I believe Cardoza is going to equip every supporter with one of these beauties ...

They have put a lot of thought into it. They will get more ££ from corporate sales than every day fans. It is the same in most clubs now, sell their mothers to a brothel most of them.

Even that only gets you £12.50 these days apparently. :(

What would they need more than 10k for at Sixfields if both of the teams that play there joined their current fans it would still be half empty, maybe they could play two games on the same day.
