As a linesman or ref cause the ref can't do much bout offside

Second one was 100% onside. Third one looked onside although you can’t quite see Max’s position at exactly the time of the pass.
I'd of ruled the second one out for a foul. Not offside granted, but still not a legal goal in my eyes!

I thought that too. Wasn’t there a second touch for the first one that meant it was offside? Also Robins agreed the third was off.

Shipley was offside for the 1st. Baka clearly fouled the defender for the 2nd (although Hiwula should of scored or at least got his shot on target in the 1st place). And Biamou was out of shot on the highlights for the 3rd so camt say for sure, but the lino was very quick with his decision and when he does come in to shot he was about 4/5 yards ahead of everyone else so I'll say he was off. Robins seemed to think he was off anyway.

Didn't Robins come out again after the match and say after watching them back all 3 were offside. He said Shipley's was tight but it was correct.

It was Bolton's first home game after all their issues and I thought their crowd was magnificent. Roaring for everything and a real 12th man. Ref was their 13th man - shouldn't have been influenced but it did get to him i think. We should be proud, that's the 2nd game this season we've played with 2 men less and come away with a point.

No he didnt. He said biamous was and thats it. We were also denied 3 penalties

Just looked back. He said Baka's was on aide the other 2 weren't.

We were denied one penalty in my opinion. The other 2 weren't in my opinion. And I think most agreed after the match.

Stop being so pent up about it and exaggerating things.

Definitely 2 penalties. Only the 3rd was offside too. You keep saying in your opinion then accuse me of exaggerating. I wasnt aware your opinion was fact

Second half one was poor. First half very good I thought
Looked the same guy to me, was he injured? I feel refs need to get more caching or something
S something has to change

We were laughing at ref warming up in the goal at Donny end before game. Then noted he was stretching and lunging last few mins first half. Not surprised he went off. Thought he a better ref than the guy second half

First half ref did alright I thought. Happy to let play go, didn’t keep stopping unnecessarily, seemed to have common sense, and definitely one of the better refs I’ve seen in a long while. Did spot him stretching towards the end of the first half so not surprised he was subbed! Amused me when they brought him out a dining area chair to sit on when he went as forth official then was treated by St Johns.

As for the second half ref he was poor. Pretty much the opposite. Always wanting to stop play, and didn’t see the one handball that I thought was handball. I didn’t think there was more genuine shouts

That was the clearest handball I’ve seen since Linda Lovelace on Harry Reems in Deep Throat (those not of a certain vintage might need to look that up!)

This is a professional sport , with millions involved from the top right down - with promotion etc. Either VAR is part of that sport or it isn’t, you can’t have certain matches given it and others not!

That lost 2 points today, if it was a pen, could mean as much to us as a VAR decision that hands a result to a team in the premier league... some would argue it means more!

Especially when you consider the standard of refs at this level is often of a lower level too.

When refs are paid 40k a year in the premier league and the lower paid players make that a week it’s not surprising the standard is poor especially at our level

Yeah plus match fees, OTE around 80k , you expect a decent craftsman for that! And it should be same quality and pay in league 1 for refs too, let’s attract refs to play all the way through the football league, it’s peanuts to the game really but a decent enough wage for a good ref to want to be on the game... We are talking about so much at stake for these clubs looking to make it to the next tier that the efl owe it to them to make sure these matches are officiated to the same level and given the same help with technology , var
