The Lati booking was bizarre. I’m not sure there was even a hint of a foul he just seemed like normal contact? And was what, third minute? They are ruining football.
It wasn't a pen for us, it was never a booking for Lati, both of their goals were handball and it was a clear offside in the leadup to the second.
They are just fucking useless.
A friend of me messaged me last night after the game. He’s half French and supports PSG, watches a lot of English football and his comment was, is there a narrative where there are certain teams the league want to do well. He has said he’s seen it in other games this season where the likes of Leicester and Leeds have had some very weird decisions from the ref go their way. I told him I think the refs are just crap. But in the prem they definitely seem to favour or are influenced by the bigger clubs
but even as they played the replay their commentator could'nt see it was a deflected goal and handballI think ultimately they've got one of the most challenging jobs in the world and need support. VAR should be that support but it's not used correctly.
VAR should have 30 seconds rule. Last night that would have been enough times to see the Southampton first goal was handball.
but even as they played the replay their commentator could'nt see it was a deflected goal and handball
Yes he really was clueless I thought!!but even as they played the replay their commentator could'nt see it was a deflected goal and handball
I put on another thread - to be fair, Wright took an eternity of the pen. I'm surprised the ref didn't approach him sooner. It was like Wright was stuck on pause. I couldn't believe how long he took over it.And why the hell did he walk towards Wright as he was starting his run-up to take the penalty? Must have been in Haji's peripheral vision. Just stop the kick if you think he's taking too long. Never usually slate the ref, but he was utter gash tonight.
It did seem forever. He did the same when we went down to Watford. I think he said something about once the whistle goes then he will take it in his own time. I fully expected him to score and if he hadn't've slipped, he would.I put on another thread - to be fair, Wright took an eternity of the pen. I'm surprised the ref didn't approach him sooner. Goalkeeper guessed correctly, think he'd have saved it otherwise. It did seem forever. He did the same when we went down to Watford. I think he said something about once the whistle goes then he will take it in his own time. I fully expected him to score and if he hadn't've slipped, he would.
Haven't seen the highlights yet. Will wait until after work. Particularly want to see what Collins was up to for their second.Goalkeeper guessed correctly, think he'd have saved it otherwise.
Was the one at the end of the first half a pen? Looked more clear than the first.

It was over 10 secs after the ref blew his whistle before he gestured for Haji to take it. Maybe he thought that Haji hadn't heard the whistle? Shite as the ref was, can't really moan at him for that, Haji was taking ages.
He was aiming for the keeper's right, because that's the direction he kicked the ball in?How can you know? He slipped. We’ve mondjes where he was aiming for.

So how does the ball go the opposite direction even if you slip? Was he also aiming for the bar? He slipped, who know where the ball would have gone if he hadn’t hit it twice.
To the goalie I'd think?
Refs seem to allow ages for throw-ins and as for keepers holding onto the ball, aren't they supposed to only get 6 seconds? what about goalkicks? seem to be the only thing keepers get booked for timewasting for. Surely 5-10 seconds to compose yourself for a penalty isn't excessive. My issue was the creepy walk up in his peripheral. If you want to stop play blow the whistle. Otherwise stay the fuck out of the way of play. A ref wouldn’t walk up to a play in the middle of play or even a player taking ages on another set piece
Could have done. I think approaching him as he did was odd, would surely have been better off blowing the whistle & telling him to get on with it.So should he have booked him and made him start again?
