The lino couldn’t keep up with play he missed the line call as he was at least 20 yards behind play - he missed several offsides we were in line with the 18 yard box

thought the first was offside, their player should have had a second yellow for the blatant dive on a yellow, second looked out of play and added time was laughable...................but, we were fucking shit, subs should have been made way earlier
No where near offside for the first.

Some bonkers decisions

1st half foul in their box against Milan was a shocking decision!!
Utterly ridiculous. No-one, looking back at that could say that, that was a foul.

I get the feeling the ref just assumed that MVE must have pulled him back.

Just watching a bit of Sheffield derby & ball goes out for a throw-in, Sheff Utd player thinks it's for them and goes to take it but referee gives it to Sheff Wed so player says "You're fucking shit, how is that for them?" & then referee blows for half time and same player walks past referee still having a go. How is that not at least a yellow card? 🤔

Cos it’s a red and he’s not going to send him off
It’s why it’s impossible to ref grassroots

I thought it should be a red but wasn't sure. Surely the FA/EFL should be looking at things as clear as that. Just because it is a derby & they can be very volatile is no excuse & is poor officiating which as you say doesn't help referees lower down the pyramid 😡

Well it's foul and abusive language. If every player who swore at a referee got sent off as they should be then it would soon stop.

Why is it always grassroots? Anybody mentions professional refs being incompetent and it's just a rant about people over the park. 🤣

Let's face it, the vast majority of refs in our league are dog shit. Linos even worse.

Because it filters down, they see players in PL & EFL get away with it so do it themselves.
Even more reason for professional refs to do their jobs properly then.

My point is that if anybody mentions a pro ref being abysmal it's "yeah but grass roots".

They should use the rules and send players off then, would soon stop.

They tried that clampdown on time wasting but adding it all on at the end. Then they just couldn't be arsed any more.
Because no matter what they try players and managers try to bend the rules. Imaginary head injuries. A lot of games right across Europe refs are ignoring blatant diving and waving play on.

To be fair I’d struggle not to swear at the lino on Tuesday for that second goal.

Why don't you become a ref or linesperson and see how well you do ?

Whilst I agree that professional refs should do their jobs properly there is no excuse for how players, parents and coaches treat referees at grass root level. The example needs setting at professional level by coaches/managers & players. Yes I swear in day to day life but the way professional footballers treat referees is appalling.

Just saying it makes it harder for everyone the top level refs allowing themselves to be abused and disrespected

It would be nice for a manager/coach to take a stance like Clough did at Forest, maybe FL should take the lead. Yes players can challenge decisions but there is a proper way to do it & certainly no need for abusive language.

Thought he was very good overall yesterday
I think you were swayed by the result
apart from the Milan one, a lot of clear fouls werent given
A couple of times EMC was dragged down, and got back up still with the ball lol

and he also lost control a couple of times

Ha is that how it is for everything then? Can't say somebody can't do their job unless you do it?

If I was incompetent at my actual job as a lot of the officials we have had this year, I'd be at the job centre.

Yeah exactly. He missed a fair bit and went through a phase of just giving them everything.

Strange decision first half where it seemed that EMC had just won back the ball in their box and he gave a foul. Looked very much like scoring if it hadn't been given

Someone explain to me why he spoke to Kitching yesterday after their player went down on the edge of our box.
Play continued and when it eventually stopped he approached the player on the floor and spoke to him.
He then went over to Kitching and had a long conversation. About what?
The referee had seen nothing, the assistant had seen nothing. Why approach Kitching and speak to him, as captain Allen should have run over and asked the referee what he thought he was doing.
