Just us who’s had them? Also, what clarifies a bad ref? I went to wolves tonight in the arsenal end with friend. This is a two yellow cards, undoubtedly.
Yet pundits are saying “it’s harsh” and “ref got it wrong”. This is the issue we have. If either of those incidents isolated are at a city game, they’re yellow cards. The ref has got it spot on. Yet the talk is it’s harsh, and people start saying refs are shit etc. Fan behaviour/opinion(because of the media) are a bigger issue than refs

No refs are the problem. The guy from Tuesday shouldn’t be referring at a professional level. We need refs of the same professionalism as players.

This is the problem.
We have pundits saying how the laws aren't followed properly, how bad it is that players surround refs etc., then when a ref actually upholds the law they're castigated for being harsh or over-zealous and card happy.
If these people actually want the game to improve in terms of behaviour, then they have to back them in those instances. But they won't, because it's not in their interests for it to happen. They'd be out of a job without these incidents to talk about.

It’s two yellows whatever they say, I think James should have been sent off for a foul and then throwing the ball away in the same incident on Tuesday.
I get fed up with players throwing the ball away or sitting down on the pitch waiting for a substitute to get dressed.

Something needs to be done about timewasting. I’m happy for it to just be added on, bookings do nothing at all really, but fourth officials needs to be told to be a lot stricter. Three minutes on Tuesday was a joke. As was one minute in a first half with two goals TBH.

On average the ball is in play for less than 50 minutes in a Championship match.
I have no issue with the clock being allowed to run & the concept of "stoppage time" but wholeheartedly agree this shouldn't lie with the referee, they already have far too much to contend with & it should be the responsibility of a 4th or even 5th official.

I don’t have an issue with ball In play as much as the time wasting being overlooked when in play, throw ins, free kicks, goal kicks and keepers collecting the ball and dwelling on it should be a higher priority than it is given.

I just want some consistency. I didn't think the handball was a pen on Tuesday but he then goes and gives another one in the middle of the pitch.
Our players aren't a complaining bunch bet they were clearly frustrated with that ref and I think that says a lot.

I think that's the idea of two 30 minute halves, where the clock only runs when the ball is actively in play. The clock would automatically stop when there's a throw in, free kick, corner, goal etc and only re-start when the game restarts. There would then be no point taking ages to take a throw in, feigning injury to run down the clock, or over celebrating a goal other than maybe to slow the momentum down when the opposition have you under the cosh. Football is a bit of an anomoly in terms of time keeping as it seems the only sport in the modern world where supporters don't definitively know exactly when a game is going to finish, or at what points the clock is stopped or time is added on.

As for time wasting, I'd probably include goal kicks, throw ins, corners, free kicks etc as the ball not being in play.
Keepers holding the ball of course wouldn't, but the rule for holding onto the ball would have to be more strictly enforced.

Ah the old pundits favourite go to line! It’s a myth that “all we want is a bit of consistency” across the board.
The reality is that if you gave ten referees one incident to look at that they would no doubt differ on opinions and interpret it differently.

That’s not what I’m talking about though. Of course some refs are more lenient and some harsher and that’s fine.
Once a standard has been set for a game though it has to be followed. The two handball incidents on Tuesday the perfect example. The exact same thing happened in both. the ball his the players arm from a short distance and the arm was slightly away from the body. It was fine to not call that a penalty but then you can’t blow for it in the middle of the park.
The consistency of decisions from the same referee was appalling.

Too many people too quick though to listen to the wittering on of pundits on Match of the day saying “all we want is consistency” which I’d impossible to achieve regarding referee decisions in 10 or so Premier League matches across a weekend.

The referee was a fucking disgrace he offered no protection against those dirty bastards but the c**t won't be struck off because the authorites are chicken livered cunts. I know O'hare likes the odd dive but today he was hacked down cynically and that poor excuse for a referee done fuck all about it...No wonder Viveash got booked, utterley utterley a fucking disgrace of a referee...rant fucking over !!!
