All just stuff coming out about premiership refs being too friendly with prem managers is hardly surprising.

I think it would help if rather than having a pool of premier league refs you just have a pool of football league refs. That way you only have a ref at most once a season and no one would really know who they are.

After all the saying that the best refs are the ones you don't notice is very true.

There aren't enough referees of a high enough standard to do that-and we don't have enough because they get dog's abuse for giving a remotely controversial decision.
