By far our best player against Yeovil and didn't put a foot wrong - after a dodgy kick - against Shrews. Would people lash Burge back in? I think if an outfield player was out injured and their replacement excelled it would be completely legitimate to make them wait for their chance. I vote Reice

I would stick with Charles-Cook. In saying that though, Burge did nowt wrong at all the last 2 or 3 games he was in.

For me Charle-Cook just looks more confident and assured. His command appears better too. That first game his handling was excellent.

Tough call for TM. Burge will be really disappointed if he is dropped ,so not good for his morale.

I would have Burge in goal against Fleetwood as going to be a tough game. He will need to be at his best over the next few weeks as RCC will push him all the way. The JPT and league cup are good for playing young talent, shame we out.

I agree on the confidence point. From minute one he was gagging to come for everything and at one point ricketts sold him massively short and he had to chuck his face at the feet of their striker - not to say that burge wouldn't have done the same but rcc just filled me with confidence.

I'm not a critic of Burge but he was No i simply because he was the senior of the two and RCC was untested

RCC made two excellent stops in the 2nd half. Looks confident and strong although he was lucky late on when he hesitated and nearly got caught out.

TM must be tempted to keep him in the side for Saturday but he also needs to be mindful of the impact it would have on Burge if he drops him after publicly backing him as his number 1, especially as his performances have improved since the Burton game.

we cant complain its a dilemma thats good for us aswell they will push eachother and know which ever makes a mistake would cost them their place in the team, its competition that Tm is looking for in the team and this the one position im sure hes delighted thats gonna give him a selection headache.

i think its pretty clear from his interviews that mowbray prefers rcc

maybe burge will be back in until he makes a mistake, but i have no dobut rcc will be covs number 1 by end of season and it will stay that way

He certainly fills me with a lot more confidence. Every time Burge comes for a cross he gives me the jitters unfortunately

Nope.

It wasn't just 2 clean sheets though, it was also two very confident performances.

Burge hasn't got himself into a position where he is an automatic choice to come back in. RCC didn't have much to do at the weekend but did what was asked without fuss, sounds like he had a good match last night as well.

I'd have no problem with RCC keeping his place. The only downside is Burge seems to be a player that lacks confidence, getting benched isn't going to help that much.

Not if he is any good they won't - if as a paid professional he performs below expectation he will attract criticism - and rightly so.

Burge seems to have been chosen and regarded as #1 because he is ever so slightly more senior - especially in the case of a goalkeeper, this seems to denote some kind of superior composure and ability to read the game. In the minuscule amount of time he has spent on the pitch, and Burge will be painfully aware of this, RCC has debunked this myth and can justifiably be PO'ed if he is dropped.
