Relegation fodder (1 Viewer)

What a weird nonsense post.
Robins got us in a really poor situation and looked to have no idea what to do.
Action had to be taken to try and turn it around.
Keep Robins to manage us better on League 1. What a load of bollocks.
No it's not and I think you are missing my point.

After yesterday, people are saying we are relegation fodder. That's with a new manager at the helm.

Obviously that's way OTT, because he's only been here 5 mins.

I was just making a point, that if we are relegation fodder anyway, what was the point in sacking the previous manager?

We have to believe that Lampard will improve things. Otherwise it's pointless.

Clearly there would be more of a point. Your slavish defence of robins and his clear failings are embarrassing

He turned things around before and did it last season, so it's not illogical to think he could have done so again, this.

Not embarrassing at all. Just logic based on him being here 7 years and always being able to find a way to turn things around.

It’s totally illogical. His team have left and he has wasted money on some very average looking players. No other club would have kept him.

It concerns me a bit that Lampard seems to be in the dour, serious Robins mould rather than an extrovert motivator.
Seems these players need a shot of energy and enthusiasm.

What would be pointless is staying with a manager who when given a load of money assembled a mess of an unmotivated squad, with problems all over the pitch and an inability to do the basics.
We are in a relegation fight largely because of Robin's failure.

I'm not worried at all yet about relegation, I'm prepared to see what the new manager and coaches can do and then bring in in January.

Far too early to be crying about relegation at the moment.

Nice to see Danny lurking but not brave enough to post

The body language of sheaf in particular isn’t great and I know for a fact he was telling one person I know in a corporate area when robins was in charge that he was not injured but “not worthy of even being acknowledged”

Then he needs to leave the club as soon as possible. To have that attitude from a player that is supposed to be our captain is pathetic.

Underperformance, lack of confidence or confusion over tactics etc. are always mistaken for lack of desire by fans, it's very rarely the case.

While this is true. We also have a squad full of massive fannies.

That wasn't my point though.

My whole point was that we have to believe that Lampard is going to change things around, otherwise it was pointless bringing him in.

My post is about Lampard, not Robins. And the point of people saying we are still relegation fodder with Lampard at the helm.

That's what I meant.

Since beating Leeds at the Ricoh we have generally been poor, the idea that these players are of the quality to get us to the top of this league is fantasy. Wright is a big miss, as is Bidwell but apart from those two who will transform this team? Sheaf has been poor and he is not a leader, presently he is nowhere near Premiership level. Instead of throwing money at BTA we should have been looking at different areas of the pitch. Personally, I think that Lampard is a lazy and unimaginative appointment but he definitely has his work cut out.

Don’t kick me too hard folks.....

Any thoughts (if available and affordable either as a loan or otherwise), Conor Coady?

How does that square with the fact that we have come back from behind so many times lately?

it doesn’t, clearly. Too many people think that ‘motivation’ means badge kissing, shaking fists & smashing into opposition players to show they care.

We didn't stop him from leaving.

He's nowhere near as good as he or some other fans think he is. The sooner he's moved on the better.
I have no idea if we prevented him leaving or not, simply looking for an explanation of why he does not seem so interested. I agree he is not quite the player many think he is, but many will come up with 101 excuses to support his lack of impact.

He’s not beyond criticism, I agree, and he has to shoulder some of the blame of not pulling out the stops to replace experienced players with experienced players.

He has to take the blame for appointing a captain who isn’t a captain, and for not trying to smooth things over with Viveash.

The onus now, imo, is to reinforce the spine of the team with loans or shrewd free agent signings, cash in on a couple of players in the summer, and rebuild again. If finances permit this.

This anti Sheaf nonsense needs to stop. We all love a boo boy but some of the rhetoric on here is getting ridiculous. He's having a poor season, so is most of the squad. We're being told he is having injections to get through games, it true that doesn't sound like someone who's sulking, he'd just make our he's too injured to play.

I don't believe Milan is sulking either, he's just having a difficult second season, not helped by everyone else being so poor and the team changing every week.

We're not bad enough to go down . I think we'll finish around 12th at best, and that means we'll need to improve, but I just can't see us dragged into the bottom three.
We're too bloody good. 😆

TBF most of it is Earlsdon and his weird vendetta

Yeah, get all that

But isn't the accusation a lack of effort?

If Sheaf is injured and that's the reason he has been poor, then that's obviously excusable.

I sincerely hope neither are not pulling their weight, because that does all seem very odd.

Get out of his arse. He's been shit for ages and you were one fan who was constantly giving him MOTM week after week despite lacklustre performances.

Criticising a player that is supposed to be our captain, and has overseen our manager getting sacked whilst leading us towards the bottom of the table is not hate. It's common sense.

The sooner he's out of this club, the better.

Yes, that's the accusation. Other than the Derby game I haven't seen a lack of effort, lack of quality yes, lack of understanding of what's expected of them yes, but not necessarily a lack of effort.

Ownership, managers and pundits need to stop saying that we have a quality squad and are in a false position. I feel we're actually quite fortunate not to be in the bottom 3 on performances alone. If we had a 'lesser quality squad', maybe they would realise that success will be determined by teamwork and effort.
At some point some of these players will realise that they are not as good as others are making out. Let's hope it's not too late.

It's not about him being a boo boy, I definitely think there's something more off than just lack of form .
And for me, he's not a captain, though there arent many candidates to take the armband of him.

Your hatred of him is weird, all because he didn't smile on the photos when he signed for us.

How else do you explain losing almost every 50:50?

Theres definitely fear, you can see that on the ball. Maybe it’s that across the pitch.
