This anti Sheaf nonsense needs to stop. We all love a boo boy but some of the rhetoric on here is getting ridiculous. He's having a poor season, so is most of the squad. We're being told he is having injections to get through games, it true that doesn't sound like someone who's sulking, he'd just make our he's too injured to play.

I don't believe Milan is sulking either, he's just having a difficult second season, not helped by everyone else being so poor and the team changing every week.

Not sure what you mean by "anti Sheaf nonsense". Is that when people criticise him? Is he beyond reproach or criticism?

I don't know anyone who boos him home or away. However, he has been a massive disappointment this season and I will criticise him for it. He was poor again yesterday as he has been for the majority of games he has played in this season. We went to Burnley and one of the first things he did was give it away on the edge of the Burnley box and allowed them a quick break. I have lost count of the amount of times he has done that; giving the ball away on the edge of the opposition box or somewhere in midfield which allows the opposing team to gain an advantage.

I don't know the reason behind his loss of form; injury? Sulking due to not getting a move? Who knows? The thing is, he's the captain and should be setting an example to the rest of the players. Should be encouraging them, pushing them forward. I don't see any of that on the pitch, I don't see any leadership from him. Our problem is there's no other leader in the team, so it seems he will continue to be captain. It will be interesting what Lampard does with Sheaf. Will he be brave enough to drop him if this loss of form continues?

Can I just note on sheaf, while he hasn’t played well this year I do think we could be using him better.

His best attributes are his game awareness, ability to play under pressure and his defensive work. I hope when Lampard gets his feet under the table, he moves to a 4-3-3 and plays Sheaf as a holding midfielder to help out the defence

Nice to see Danny lurking but not brave enough to post
I think I've said this before.

I usually avoid this site for at least 48 hours if we don't win a game.

The over dramatic melt-downs, panic and attacks on the team/individuals ('transfer list the lot, they are not trying and don't care, worst City team I have ever seen, we're going down') - it's not fantastic to read to to be honest. There's a rush to be extremely negative, panic and write us off. There's invariably a need to offer the most senseless opinions (as above).

And I've learnt a long time ago that arguing with or having a different viewpoint is not worth it. There's no room for balance - just a need by some to criticise and in some cases a desperate need to be right about previously writing off certain players based on a couple of moments in a game with very limited info on the instructions from the coach or even if for example a player was outnumbered in a game situation. Constructive criticism is yesterday's news.

The lunatics these days have simply taken over the asylum if we don't win games so I generally give it a miss. This is not aimed at anyone just a reflection of what I see after games we don't win. I don't remember it being this way in the early days of the forums - I guess that's a reflection of the Facebook/Insta age, need for very simple solutions and perhaps entitlement as the last 7 seasons have been so progressive that we increasingly see every loss/draw as some kind of disaster.

It's not a question of being brave enough just an issue of an increasingly pointless task arguing against the negativity.

I don’t think we’ll be relegation fodder. When Wright comes back we have enough firepower. But we really need to spend the next two windows reconstructing our defence. Binks, Dasilva and Thomas don’t have clean sheets in them. And we need to just play Dovin.

Isn't that how Frank had us playing yesterday?

Not quite I don’t think. Officially our shape was done as a 4-2-3-1 and I didn’t see Sheaf drop into the DM role which caused us to have a few issues on the counter when Josh lost the ball.

there was no 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1

On the ball we were in a 3-2-5 shape which lined up like this

Collins

Thomas-Binks-Dasilva

Sheaf-Eccles

MVE-Saka-Simms-Rudoni-EMC

And off the ball we dropped in to a 4-4-2

Collins

MVE-Thomas-Binks-Dasilva

Saka-Eccles-Sheaf-EMC

Simms-Rudoni

To be fair regardless of the shape in attack, which I’ll keep an eye for next game, The two in CM didn’t drop back enough to support the back three. I was hoping to see us use sheaf as a DM to help protect our backline and keep us moving

Do wonder tho if we’ll see binks or Kitching take Dasilvas spot if that is the plan is for us to form a back three in possession

Conceding 2 goals against Cardiff at home is fucking nuts ain't it 😂
With Collins in goal, Dasilva at LB and Binks at CH we did well not to concede more.

We can't go into games needing to score 3 goals to have any hope of winning.

On a plus not FL has seen first hand just how shit we are, and I trust him to make the necessary changes now (Dovin, Kitchin and Bidwell) and then to recruit in January.

We need a left back 2 centre backs and a box to box midfielder totalling to 15 - 20 million
This was the priority in the summer, we all knew Joel, Binks, Thomas and Kitch were shit the.

To fund this overhaul, you're looking at moving on Simms, Kitching and possibly 1 more player and then Doug would still have to spend his own money.

This should have been done under Robins, not Lampard. If Doug meant what he said regarding the 5 year promotion plan, then he will know another 15-20 million is needed to rebuild our defence and bring in a top box to box midfielder.

The problem is tho, I think King is actually 1 clueless and 2 nieve. Rule number 1 you do not sack a manager that is one of the best in this league, not just in the eye's of us supporters, but also in the eye's of just about every fucking individual outside of Coventry.

Watched highlights back today their first goal number 11 was offside and blocking Collins view.
We pull all 11 back and they had 6 in our box and yet no one marked their scorer and 2 other players Rudoni was too busy having a wrestling match to know were the ball was.We had Binks, Sheaf, Latibeauiere, and Eccles picking up no one,Bassette was neither on the post or doing any marking aswell. The second Binks slow at getting to block a perfectly placed shot There's enough for FL to begin with.

I'm just fucked off I have cut this group more slack than they have deserved tbh, I dunno why? Is it blind loyalty or can I genuinely see even little glimpses of a decent side in us? I have no clue, but at times where they have been slagged off to oblivion on here and twitter I have stuck up for them and my faith has not been reciprocated

I think we will escape a serious relegation battle but we ain't making 12 points up on the Play-Offs, they are absolutely gone as far as I am concerned... not even in the question

We give away some of the cheapest goals I have ever seen a squad of footballers give away, for some reason at the moment are persisting with one of the most underwhelming, fucking dross goalkeepers I have ever seen wear a City shirt - Combine that with the failure to beat some absolutely awful sides at home (Swansea, Derby, Sheff Weds, Cardiff) and it really ain't been good enough

Every player bar Haji Wright and probs Josh Eccles could be sold in the summer and I wouldn't really care, this crop got the old manager the sack and unless Frank isn't afraid to be ruthless they will do the same to him

Who knows that new contract in the week could be a prelude, I wouldn't believe anything is secure atm.

It did seem strange he was shipped out for the whole season when the only other cover at right back is Lati. I guess it was a shape up now or say goodbye to CCFC message. Was this a Robins call.

Burroughs is nowhere near the level lads, I’d expect him to be released at the end of his contract.

Probably but I still don't think it was a wise decision .

Would be happy to get rid of Burroughs, Tyler, Tavares and Howley in the summer. I'd potentially thrown Obiwku into that mix as well given that he's hardly pulling up trees at Grimsby.

Pointless holding onto players that clearly have zero future at the club.

Probably a bit early for Obikwu, I think he only got fit by the end of October and hasn't played much.

Yeah but we’ve got an option for a year. It’s got to the point where I’m not even 100% I’d let him go just because you know he’s a certain level of professional.

I'd imagine he's not on a cheap salary though. That would've been his second contract extension since arriving at the club, plus a promotion.

For someone that's likely to be potentially third choice not sure how cost-effective keeping him on the books is.
