Rob Holding is a decent shout to be fair.

Only issue is wages, he’s on £45,000. It would take him £20,000 for him to drop to our higher level. Wonder if he would be happy to do so.

If so would be a brilliant pick up imo

The problem is that the chairman thinks the deck is good enough for top 6. I feel the first thing is to convince him of the truth and the shortcomings is the way forward else no additions will be incoming to rectify the situation.
It isn't though.

We have several players that are good enough but our weaknesses seem to outweigh them.

If Frank is allowed to strengthen in January we would cruise the rest of the season. Might even end up with something to play for. But other than a tactical masterstroke nothing will change. King and Austin have brought in good players but not a good team.

He wont command anywhere near that now. I was thinking loan anyway to start with.

Thats sort of what I said. The squad is stronger than its ever been but certain areas are lacking. To say otherwise is ignoring left back, central defender and defensive midfield frailties.

Watched highlights back today their first goal number 11 was offside and blocking Collins view.
We pull all 11 back and they had 6 in our box and yet no one marked their scorer and 2 other players Rudoni was too busy having a wrestling match to know were the ball was.We had Binks, Sheaf, Latibeauiere, and Eccles picking up no one,Bassette was neither on the post or doing any marking aswell. The second Binks slow at getting to block a perfectly placed shot There's enough for FL to begin with.
Saw a different game to me then, didnt see Lati touch the ball once all game (i.e. he wasn't on the pitch)

Would be happy to get rid of Burroughs, Tyler, Tavares and Howley in the summer. I'd potentially thrown Obiwku into that mix as well given that he's hardly pulling up trees at Grimsby.

Pointless holding onto players that clearly have zero future at the club.

Tyler? We need a decent goalkeeper, we haven't even seen him play in the first team yet, he's been injured, so let's see what his like first, before we get rid. 🤔

Think that probably proves my point considerably more than it does yours I'm afraid....

He's 23 next year and is nowhere near the first team. It's pointless keeping him.

If anything it'd be far better for him and his prospects of having a career to seek other opportunities.

A fair bit of this thread is quite bizarre because a) we have general criticism of lots of players followed by b) a fair few of them will be targeted and “be off”.

To be fair to Latibeaudiere, he wasn’t marking anyone because he wasn’t even playing…

Saw a different game to me then, didnt see Lati touch the ball once all game (i.e. he wasn't on the pitch)
Apologies to Lati. it was MVE fact still stands (no one within 5 yards of the player standing behind him just outside 6 yard box) 11 in the box marking 6 and 3 of those were unmarked.Like I said if Rudoni's wrestling partner was the one he was marking ,MVE lost the scorer.
You see better marking on park pltches.

Well you've made my point he's only 23 and that's young for a goalkeeper and like I said he's been out for a year through injury, the coaching staff must see something in him otherwise they would've got rid.

Sheaf is our highest rated player this season on FotMob, 37th highest rated player in the division with most (90%) of those above belonging to teams in the top 6.

Correct, and his scores aren't that much different than last season, which is what I have been saying. What we are seeing is pretty standard, not some fall from grace or mystery injury. People are just waking up and not necessarily realising what they are seeing.

A player in that position with all the time in the world making loads of easy passes looks great on paper. He's a statistics wet dream in some ways (not others), and it is exactly why people have inflated view of him, and also to the untrained eye (Cardiff comms for example) he looks at face value very good. When you look further, watch his limitations every week and how wasteful he is, or constantly takes the wrong (but easy option), it's isn't reality though. Neither is a 20million price tag, which has now been evident.

He's been rated highly in most recent games on there despite it being widely accepted he has been poor, and Basette was rated our worst player by a mile in a few recent games on that website, when in reality other than Cardiff, it is widely accepted he's been one of our most useful players.

It's why football is played on the pitch, not on simulations.

Are we?

We're almost halfway through the season. Lost too and not beaten some utter shite

Players look not arsed

No change in urgency of them from Robins, to Carr, to today with Lampard

None of them have taken the bull by the horns, not one of them has tried to gee up the others, not one of them has raised their game, not one of them has ran themselves into the ground to show they're worth the shirt

Today was the first time I felt concerned about the R Word

This is more than a management issue

This is £45 million pissed away on not to the level players
Virtually the same first choice team from last year. We have lost some experience and O'Hare and Palmer but not that it should have changed the dynamic that much. For problems look at King's changes behind the scenes.

Keeping him just because he's young isn't really a justification though..

Otherwise by that logic no player under the age of 23 should be released.

The coaching staff haven't got rid because he's under contract.

I highly doubt another one will be offered given that at this stage there's 3 GKs ahead of him.

Haha three goalkeepers ahead of him and some people say we should get rid of two of them. 🙈
