The home games especially look huge on paper. Factor in the solid home form all season and the fact we play better against good sides and realistically you have to be optimistic. Add in the recent upsurge in away form and it really is there for the taking.

I’d of literally milked MR for a playoff place at the start of the season but looking at it now this is by far and away the best chance in years to finally get out of this league.

City teams of old would choke right now. But he really has put a great side together and they all play for him. It would be criminal to f**k this up but I genuinely think he/they won’t.

As it is, I think we’ll beat Blues tomorrow and do just enough to get second.

Surprised at how similar our record after 27 games is now as to what it was in the infamous Mowbray season.

Under Mowbray in 15/16: P27 W13 D9 L5 GF 47 GA 27 Pts 48

This season: P27 W12 D12 L3 GF 38 GA 27 Pts 48

I'd suspect the majority of those points were achieved by the end of November.

We only picked up 21 points from the remaining 19 games that season. Relegation form.

In my mind, 10 wins 5 draws & 2 defeats would be a more than fair return... giving 83pts.

It must be a more competitive season, because 83pts would not have got promotion in past years... in fact 83pts would have only scraped the play offs last year!
Don't forget only 44 games this year therefore 83points this year would be the same as having 87 in a 46 game season. We would have been promoted three time in the last ten seasons and I think this year is equal to any 1 of those 3. (very competitive) 12 points covers the top 11 clubs and the top 4 have played more games than everone in that top group many points are going to be dropped unexpectedly we just need to hold our nerve. All of the top 6 are in form exept Ipswich and Wycombe.

At this stage cards and injuries can make a massive difference difference to form - I wouldn’t know how to check the card situation ?

Only 2 likely to get suspended are McFadz and Dabo, both on 6 yellows each. Another 11 league games to go until the cut off point is reached (after conclusion of the Accrington game for us) so need them to avoid getting another 4 bookings to avoid a 2 game ban.

Walsh and McCallum both on 4 each but getting another 6 each in 11 games would be a special effort

That’s good news then that they have 5 to go - Dabo is a critical player as it seems

Fortunately it seems Pask can cover for either of them.
