Renew the fans faith... (1 Viewer)

Coventry fans were sat on the tip of a mountain of optimism and forward thinking two weeks ago. With the promise of a similar budget to last season (Roughly 1m) and also offering of contracts to the 3 "Star Players" while Andy Thorn implementing our favored style of football finally & being signed on a contract all was looking good.

The board was beginning to pull back in the fans - with the thought of watching a star studded strike force perhaps fire us to promotion.

However the proverbial fan sat on top of the mountain would soon come crashing down along with the faith - surrounded optimism now with hatred and dismay, dis-obey and questions of un-certainty as to the future of the club.

Marlon betrayed us - The accounts painted the picture in black and white while supposedly being told we might not last much longer, only to be contrasted with alternate views from the board who informed us the offer was made and he betrayed us while also stating we are in a stable financial state.

Doom and gloom looms over again, as City fans optimism was short lived only to be once again be bought down to reality with a bang.

The board need to renew and revitalize the faith, because they were closer than they thought to solving the formula to bring back the fans and flood the gates of the lonely Ricoh turnstiles.

The board should listen to us - but it will not happen.

Do the right thing and sign the right players - renew the faith and bring us back!

Sorry to rain on your parade but just wait a minute!

One player who we knew would most likely leave anyway has gone.

The finances are better than the previous year....you just fail to understand them.
not saying they are great but worse they are not.

We are actively seeking a 'franchise' player as we speak. He may even be better than the prospect of King...so what's your problem?

I don't care, I have not seen the so called "Franchise Player" link. False promise after false promise - Don't speak about we knew HE was going to leave because we all THOUGHT it was inevitable. So do not question and the fact the board built up optimism which slashed after it was built up when the incompetence and un-proffesionalism of the board revealed we had an agreement albeit verbally - Nothing should of been announced at all.

My problem is also - Name a player which will be better than Marlon that we can afford? It's all just fake promises, round in circles for us fans. Build us up for a bigger fall.

Sorry to rain on your parade.

tell ya what so called city fans like you make me sick, no wonder we are known to have fickle support, whats the point moping around with all the doom and gloom blah blah blah, being a city supporter is all about optimism, were the guys that are there every week making up the 14000 average gate come rain or shine signing for 90 mins win lose or draw, what we dont want are supporters like you who bitch and moan, but when times become good ( if we ever get back into the promised land) or when leeds come you all come out of the woodwork. The phrase where were you when we were shit! Springs immediately to mind you wanna run the club may i suggest a copy of fm 11 then you can leave us alone DONE

Brody in all his Canadian eloquence dropped the F word on CWR the other night. What he means by it is a player to build the "Franchise" around; i.e. the team.

It's not that bad Cov 4 Prem... Christ, you'd think we'd lost Turner, Juke, Clingan, Cranie, Hussey and Thorn all in 1 day, the way you're going on about it!

Re: the finances, I believe we owe £0 to the banks (how many clubs can say that). £38m (ish) of the £39-40m we owe is to SISU - which means we aren't paying interest on it as it's an investment, not a loan. Don't get me wrong, more investment is needed but it's nowhere near as bad as you're making out.

We've lost one good Championship player and now we aren;t under an embargo could easily pinch a Premier League loanee as well as this "franchise" player we keep hearing of. Don't be so quick to write everything off.

Or better still, go to the Brummie forums... they're financially screwed, losing half their squad & their manager backstabbed them for their arch rivals... Being a Sky Blue sound's luxoroius in comparison!

Don't quite understand the vitriol and dispondency - King was never going to sign and lied to the board about doing so - they reported what they believed to be true (more fools them for believing a man quite prepared to lie on oath in a court of law) - but realistically surely no one expected him to sign. Are we going to have a similar breast beating session when Westwood and Gunnarson go, which they undoubtedly will? Then the clubs finances are crap - hardly a revelation of earth shattering proportions to anyone. Yes we owe millions but unlike many of our rivals we owe it to our owners not to the bank, or inland revenue or suppliers, that is a far better situation to be in as we control our own destiny or at least our owners do.

In AT we have a young exciting manager who wants us to play exciting attacking football - the last 10 games of the season were, mostly, great and a full season of that will do me nicely. We should have a full season from Turner and Deegan - almost like having two new players, we have unloaded some deadwood, McIndoe, Osbourne etc and have some exciting youngsters who will only get better, Jutkiewicz, Clarke, Hussey, Cameron. Yes we need a couple of signings to bolster the side, a keeper, some width and a goalscorer to play alonside Juke.

Too many City fans like to have their glass half empty and always look at the negatives - theres a lot wrong with our club but thats the case at many clubs but most importantly this is our club and we support it no matter who owns it, who manages it, which stadium we play in, who wears the Sky Blue shirt or even which division we are in. This is our team, our club (not a Franchise Mr Brody) PUSB
