I was wondering if it was a "reasonable" amount, say double what Wasps paid, perhaps then SISU could say lets have a proper legal partnership now so CCFC can return home. IF it turns out you only paid half the value - we'll pay the other half and we both have 50% stake in the lease. And IF it's thrown out, we'll give you half what you origainally paid.

Bit simplistic I know but seeing as Wasps probably won't go bust as they hope, or someone may come in with money to bail them out, might ultimately be the cheapest way SISU could get a stake in a Coventry stadium. Buliding our own (not that it would happen for various reasons) would presumabley be more expensive.

It’s not sustainable beyond 2 seasons without significant revisions to the approach. We’d be effectively committing to work on a 3,000 average league budget by then

Exactly, we've had games moved to accommodate other events booked at the Ricoh after our fixtures have been published. No reason for events known about well in advance to be an issue.

Good news for those hoping Wasps are struggling financially. If you recall ACL blamed hosting Olympic events and the requirements that came with that as a reason for poor performance that year.

Yes but what also happened for the olympic games is that the stadium was put on lock down for a week or perhaps two before the olympic games started so no other events could take place there in that period or during.

that said looking at the dates i am not sure it is a big a problem as i thought it could be .......................27 July and 7 August 2022

I suspect the complaint would have been thrown out post-haste, as you wouldn't have engaged lawyers and experts to ensure it was precisely written.

The action will be brought by the European Commission, NOT Sisu.

And on BBC CW this morning, they introduced the item on the new W*sps chairman by saying "talks are still ongoing between W*sps and CCFC" - then Johnny Vaughn says "it's an impossible relationship between a tenant and landlord". CW trying to praise W*sps yet again with their "clickbait" headline.

They investigate the complaint though so surely I would just have to submit a complaint and what it was about. The EU would then look at the complaint and decided if worth pursuing. Would lawyers be needed if judges have thrown out the claim but you can still appeal to the eu? Surely the judges would be as knowledgeable in the law?

What if Sisu wrote it and I submitted it? It would be me making the complaint. What would wasps and the council say then?

We know why they submitted it, in the hope of a financial return. At the same time, I don’t like the way the Ricoh was sold either, just not for the same reasons as Sisu.

I find it difficult to believe neither ccc or wasps knew nothing until Gilbert said something. They were negotiating with wasps, the complaint was against the council, why would they tell wasps about a complaint against the council? Let’s not forget, the complaint didn’t stop negotiations.

The council were completely unaware that a complaint had been submitted against them? If ccfc didn’t know and nor did anyone else, how did Gilbert find out? Or are we believing that joy told him?

Not really. He wanted more money from Sisu at the time. It wasnt to do with him having foresight of their potential failings.

Now, I'd say it's as likely SISU told Gilbert as anyone else. I'll reserve judgement on who told him because it could have been just about everybody! Maybe they all told him(!)

The pattern follows last time and Northampton, after all.

• Negotiations begin for a new agreement wrt the Ricoh Arena, club say this is plan A.
• Agreement is reached wrt Ricoh Arena.
• SISU's actions cause a ripple, and scupper the agreed deal.
• Protagonists (see ACL / Wasps) announce negotiations are at an end.
• Protests are made that the club want to stay.
  
• Club leaves Ricoh Arena for other ground.
• It is announced that Plan A for the club is a new stadium.
• Despite time ticking on, no real detail of new stadium, or progression towards it is announced.

Now Northampton was obviously not entirely a vacuum - we had the foolishness of ACL saying negotiations were at an end, we had some unwise public comments from Mutton among others - SISU weree, to an extent, backed towards moving out... although they weren't averse to it either, and arguably created the conditions for other parties to fall into the elephant trap.

I see little difference now, tbh, except that the PR is far more professional. As with last time... they're all shysters, and to think anything happens in a vacuum is not looking at the context.

It probably suits SISU to move away for a certain time period. The club? Well, we'll only be able to tell after the event, but it's certainly a cavalier approach.

Strange decision but he must of had his reasons for it. There was a decent write up in the local Southampton rag a little while after about it. I'd look for it if I had time.

Not sure what their debts were or who they were owed to. I just remember at the time that Saints fans wanted him and the board gone.

The thing is, there's plenty (in my view) to criticise the other parties for in all this.

Can't disagree with that in the slightest... but:
1 - i think it is fair to assume as a resident of Coventry that the council would be looking out for the best interests of its football team, especially when "up against" a London rugby club (also potentially damaging another local sports team)

2 - At the final stage of the "Critical path" (appreciate mistakes already made!) where SISU had the option of taking on any potential Wasps losses following EU review and getting a rent deal, or moving to Brum, I 100% back them in moving to Brum

Based on my understanding of what the hell is going on anyway, every chance we're just being lied to by all sides.. no idea what is true anymore!

I also don't see how CCFC suffering will benefit Sisu in any way, it is in their interests for us to be successful, so you would think the decisions they make are for the benefit of both them and "us".

I first joined GMK when 'MrsDeanGordon' came on to ask how her husband played at the weekend.

It was probably a hairy-arsed bloke anyway(!) but 'she' soon disappeared after the tolerance level of reporting back his performances went down rather.

How little did I know that was as good as it was going to get!
