No it hasn't got better under Thorn but lets not kid ourselves about how it was under Boothroyd. If the players hated his style so much then why did style get us top 4 place mid season???
You seem to forget that before Xmas and before the politics of Thomas going Liverpool we were looking steady. Alot of off the field troubles did contribute. I don't see how you can say the players didn't like playing under AB? For 20 games we were playoff contenders.
People also reckon King coming into the team didn't help and caused too much unrest amongst the changing rooms.
Has it really got better under thorn?
He would have done the way we were going. Remember AT took over the squad AB had. We only lost 2 out of the last 10 games. This saved us from relegation. We had gone from 4th to nearly 4th bottom. Selective memory again?
Yes AB is so good he has ended up at Northampton, who finished near the bottom of Div4 last season with AB in charge. Yes you are right as usual

Yea I remember this, it was just the owners being tight fisted gits not wanting to pay him the improved contract for an extra year, always left it to the last second to save that extra pound.Sorry mate, but you're wrong on this one.
I'm talking about wayyyy before Everton and Spurs "Came sniffing"......Westwood was s**t on, from a great height.
Westwood was interviewed, and said....."I've asked "The Gaffer" (Coleman) to approach the board about a contract extention, because I want to stay.
Coleman said he would, but was "Sacked" meantime.
Westwood was so peed off about being kept waiting for an answer (6 months) that he made the stance of "He will not re-sign."
The rest is history.
No it hasn't got better under Thorn but lets not kid ourselves about how it was under Boothroyd.
Most of the games in the first half of the season I remember us getting extremely lucky in a lot of the games, it was always going to go tits up for us under Boothroyd once our luck ran out.
He may not have took us down....But he did nothing about keeping us up!
May I add I'm by no means a Thorn lover either. It was stated(Correctly) by yourself, that he took us to, I think, for one week only 6th position. Also stated correctly(Astute), we came sliding down the league when other teams worked out the "Hoofroyd syndrome" Meantime Thorn tried to play "Football" which baffled the other teams, and got us the desired points to stay up.
He's done nothing since, and holds the unenviable title of "Worst Coventry City Manager..EVER"
:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:
I remember us getting battered for 90 minutes by Leicester and Doncaster at home and coming out with 4 points, I remember us getting a dubious penalty away to Watford to equalise. I remember Sheff Utd hitting the woodwork 3/4 times and us winning 1-0, I remember Middelsbrough hitting the crossbar from a penalty and then again from the follow up and us going on to win 1-0, I remember Derby playing us off the park and us winning 2-1 all under the first half of the season under Boothroyd.lol
so when it goes well its luck but when it doesnt it someones fault
But for a lick of paint at Stoke, Coleman would've taken us down off the back of one of the worst ever 'must win' displays at Charlton. He had resources Boothroyd, Thorn, and Dowie could only dream of and wasted them on bottom half finishes-2 seasons on the spin; without question a worse City manager than AB.
The last three managers that we've had have been total, unadulterated, crap!!!
Dowie DID have the resoures...Who the hell do you think brought Scott Dann, and Danny Fox to the Ricoh?(For absolute buttons) btw. Then was sacked!!!.........It was under Colemans' reign that players were sold at a rapid rate.
For an intelligent person BSB, your maths is abominable....Thorn has had more straight defeats than any other manager on record at CCFC....and I take what you say about Stoke and the post, and "Must win at Charlton" but Thorns' tenure has been abysmal. Even "Hoofroyd" was sacked for losing only half the games Thorn did!!!
I did'nt like the style but i think we were genuine play off contenders at that point ,the loss of Turner ,Introduction of King ,boardroom shennannigins and finally Carsleys injury put paid to it ,along with ABs Loss of belief in the support behind his project.
If I remember correctly(Somebody might correct me) Dowie was sacked about 3-4 games after bringing Dann and Fox to Coventry. In my opinion, a disgusting move by SISU. Hoofroyd = "Kick and rush"....Coleman = "Park the bus"... Thorn = "A little boy trying to play a big mans game",CCFC. worst season ever and STILL not having a clue.:thinking about:
Thorn is CCFC manager, and is still only the manager because he's like that comedy character Tim, "Nice but dim"
boothroyd was dealt the hand after xmas with Thomas going liverpool , embargo coming in etc same as thorn.
thorn gets praise but AB gets slated
double standards
How many times had Connor Thomas played for the first team when he went to Liverpool? To use him as an example of how Boothroyd was dealt a bad hand is just ludicrous. Losing Westwood, Gunnarsson and King had a far bigger effect than when Thomas went on loan to Liverpool two seasons ago.boothroyd was dealt the hand after xmas with Thomas going liverpool , embargo coming in etc same as thorn.
