And on another thought: loyal, tough, great man-marker, limited technical footballer? Sounds a bit like Lloyd McGrath, a CCFC legend if anyone is. I suppose he's "crap" too, then Real? A team is more than just technically gifted footballers.

Football is a game of opinions, whilst mine is different from 'Real' I don't believe that makes me right. It's what forums are all about, don't have a go at him/her, simply make your point.

Maybe that's something that "Real" needs to remember, nobody else has got on their high horse, everybody has an opinion but some claim there opinion is right, and that's what pisses me off.

If you saw Shaw the second time he was with us you would say not a good player. Quite average second time around, but was coming to the end of his career. He was a lot better 1st time around. Dependable, read the game well and most of all always gave 100%. Not the best technically, but made up for it in other ways. If we had a team full of players giving their all every game we wouldn't be where we are now. Puts players like Fatwood to shame.

Second time he was with us?

Richard shaw could bring alot to the table working with the younger players and giving knowledge of game day experience to all, he was a model pro. The players i know who played in the same squad couldnt talk anymore highly of him.. Always cared and had time for the youth team players and would be a player that wasnt ever up his own arse to spend time with others, modern player and modern coach... In my opinion would be a big asset around the training ground and changing room...

Anywhere else confirmed this? I wouldn't complain if he was brought in. Aslong as it was a choice between assistant manager or players......

Not exactly confirmed but says likely to be appointed today

U really think ur the bees knees don't u real... "ur correct to a degree"! Only pompus big headed people talk down to others in such a way. Ur just a self indulged, horror of a person I expect. Feel sorry for people who hav to spend time around u....

Yes, I do believe I am the bee knees. And as much as it may grate on you I am very popular, that's why I don't have to say Shaw was a good player just to fit in with the crowd, I tell the truth as I see it, regardless of the lynch mob waiting to pounce with personal insults.

Maybe that's something that "Real" needs to remember, nobody else has got on their high horse, everybody has an opinion but some claim there opinion is right, and that's what pisses me off.

If people are that daft enough to think Shaw was some sort of good player, I have no option but to get on my high horse.

And on another thought: loyal, tough, great man-marker, limited technical footballer? Sounds a bit like Lloyd McGrath, a CCFC legend if anyone is. I suppose he's "crap" too, then Real? A team is more than just technically gifted footballers.

McGrath I agree wasn't the most technically gifted, but he brought a bit of midfield steel to the team, whereas I never saw what it was Shaw brought, even his so called "man marking" skills. How many did The great Savo Milosevic score against us when Shaw was man to man marking him?

we've had rubbish throughout the majority of the clubs existence

But we've not always hero worshipped rubbish as if they are a distant relative of the late great Bobby Moore.

Do you just imagine these nonsensical arguments in your head so there's something even you can successfully argue against?

Has it been confirmed? can't see it on the official. What are his abilities like as a coach then?

I'd rather we had just signed a decent player to be honest.....................hold on, how old is he now??

got to be seen as a positive sign - previous coaching experience, a passion for CCFC, promotion on his cv as a coach/backroom staff, and the fact SISU have finally spent some money as i'm sure he's not working for free shows they are at least looking to move forward!!!

Not according to some on here. Alex Ferguson would have got our existing squad promoted !!!!!!!

A lame comment. No one has said that. However, the implication here is that he would make no difference. This is of course absurd. He brings respect, motivation and passion which are requirements for a successful manager and attributes lacking with the present occupant.

Right then, now I've educated you on Shaw's lack of ability, let's move it on to the here and now. Do you think he will be a good coach?

You have educated yourself. Your comments are border-line ridiculous. They smack of personal vendetta than detailed analysis.

One of the worst players to ever play for us. The mind boggles that people actually rated this clown, but it does give a great indication as to why the club has fallen so far if this is the standard of player the fans are willing to not only accept, but to lord over them too. Yeovil Vs CCFC, you get what you deserve.

You have obviously never seen the great man play - Premiership class for majority of career - did a magnificent job for CCFC.

One of the best central defenders in twenty years - you must be a pathetic WUM to denigrate RS this way - just look at the 99% of posters all supporting our new assistant manager.

This appointment shows a huge intent at last from CCFC and with the appointment of Lee Carsley and the lifting of the transfer embargo green shoots of recovery are beginning to show through.

It's his personal obsession - either under his new name or previous ID - he was always the same.
