Nick need to explain what valid reason they had - if its a point of principle I'm sorry that don't count, that decision is one of the most idiotic ever and may have ruined our club beyond repair.
I didn't say it was a good decision, I have said that was their reason.
We all have a good idea what their reasons were. The point many are making is for the use of the word 'valid'
Given the official football sports body sanctioned it you would have to accept the validity if you liked it or not.
Among many reasons, the most basic is the whole principle of buying a failing business to turn it around, decreasiung costs while increasing revenues.
No movement on rent since 2005 despite being asked by various parties. Arguably this is because ACL have the monopoly on Stadium provision, so there's no need for them to move. The way to get them to move is to break the monopoly position... and it did indeed see progressive movement where previously there was none.
They told the FL that they were getting kicked out of the Ricoh
Yet they still turned down all new rental agreements. So how could this be seen as being valid?
The rental agreements were not always as the media driven headlines claimed.
And yes, it was perfectly valid to drive down costs to an affordable level.
Drive down costs? They even turned down rent free for a certain period and then cheaper than Northampton. It would have earned them more money paying the original rent than being in Northampton with record low gates. So where does the affordable level come from? And this is without losing what could easily be millions in litigation.
For a certain period...
You missed out the 'then cheaper than Northampton' bit.
For a certain period...
And now it looks as though we have lost any chance of the Ricoh to Wasps.......for ever. Valid?
Yes.
Because the Ricoh was unviable, it was move or die. Did we want a chance for our club to be around in 20-50 years time, or carry on as they were and probably go out of business in a year’s time?
The clock was ticking on us being wound up before SISU saved the day. And that, despite SISU also absorbing £millions of debt in the ensuing years, the club had continued to haemorrhage money.
SISU lied to them. They told the FL that they were getting kicked out of the Ricoh.....and that was about the time that they started the rent strike. Do you remember that the FL eventually admitted how early the talks between the two started.
So there was a valid reason because of SISU lying?
The rent was only about 10% of our outgoings. It was the extortionate wages being paid to average players that was doing our club. The rent didn't help of course. But you can't blame it for putting our club where it was. And now the games played by SISU has lost our club our home.
The whole principle of buying a failing business to turn it around, decreasing costs while increasing revenues.
I assume that is a joke right? So what did the Football League do when they had the revised rent offer from ACL then? Thought they were lying?

You can't use that offer as evidence remember. Because it was not a direct offer so it doesn't count.
I still maintain that the suxfields rent deal is the worst one in the clubs history. Sub 2000 crowds at a greatly reduced price and depending on who you believe possibly a large amount of freebies. Couple that with loss of merchandise sales and fans following NOPM until SISU out it's done more damage to CCFC finances than anything CCC or ACL OR Higgs or whoever else you want to blame but the blame for the worst rental deal in the clubs history lays solely with SISU.
Astute said that sisu had lied and said they had been kicked out of the Ricoh. So when ACL sent them the rent offer that would mean they knew their was an offer and they had not been kicked out.
Yet a few seem to think that there was a valid reason for taking us there
Yet a few seem to think that there was a valid reason for taking us there
There was a reason, it is just that most don't agree with it!!!
Can we have that in English please?
There is a valid reason.
You don't have to agree with it Mr. Objective, but there is a valid reason.
In fact plenty more than one.
So now ACL lied when they said they gave a rent offer to the football league - nice delaying tactic by the way
The reason we got moved to Northampton was an attempt of making money for the SISU investors. Valid?
Would you like to mention your list of valid reasons?
There is a valid reason.

Surely whether it's a valid reason or not depends on your point of view?
Delaying tactic? Already said about it and now you are twisting words as usual.
SISU were making out as though no offers had been made. So ACL made the offer through the FL. SISU still tried to make out as though no offer had been made. And people like you either fell for it or are trying to spin the truth.
