Well to be fair to ACL upto now they could hardly openly talk of any alternative plans, but it would be very strange if they hadn't prepared any contingency. For weeks or even months, Fisher has repeatedly said, 'this ship has sailed', 'we have moved on', 'we won't ever return to the Ricoh..' Now this threat will turn into a grim reality from Sunday, I would hope ACL will move quickly to fill the vacuum. The Higgs Trust has repeatedly said it wants to sell its half share, if a deal can be done with an interested partner, who can help solve the stadium usage problem, then they should get it done. SISU's bluff will have been called, and they would finally have to face the actual stark reality, of building a new stadium.

I sent the same in a tweet to Les reid, he has been getting pretty annoyed with me really even though I said I supported their request to ann but should do the same to sisu.

Good man, they prob have less bridges to burn with the council than with sisu

Interesting that the telegraph has asked acl to open their books as proof, yet i cant remember them taking this stance with sisu

You can of course access SISU's accounts via the Companies House website. For the financial years ending 2011 and 2012 they posted losses but their books are publicly available

However the books for CCFC (H) Ltd, CCFC Ltd, Otium etc etc are not available because for reasons known only to the directors (and shadow directors) of those companies they have not filed accounts. I don't recall CET pressing those organisations for any explanation of that situation

BUT I repeat what are we to learn from ACL's books and how does that help us with the current plight of the club?

If they are profitable it means that they can hold out against SISU's attempts to distress them into a firesale thus consigning us to any number of seasons in Northampton and if they are not then the likelihood grows that SISU will get what they want eventually after a prolonged agony. I don't think that the majority of fans want either of those two scenarios to come to fruition so the "Are they aren't they profitable...?" and "show us your books" issues are nothing more than irrelevant sideshows to the main event


Actually for the sake of Coventry council tax and ratepayers lets hope the Ricoh is profitable...


On a separate point, at the forum I went to Timmy told us that the legal advice they had received was that their case against the council was, effectively, cast iron because the Council had clearly and without any question or doubt breached the regulations. Now I know that no lawyer worth his salt (or the undoubtedly huge fees of SISU'S team) would ever give a client a 100% guarantee of success but whether they did or whether they didn't this is yet another example of Timmy being a little economical with both the truth and the actualite
