Those Chelsea and Everton sides cost astronomical amounts, (I'm fairly sure the Derby one did by Championship standards), and he did fuck all with them.
Rooney may be useless, but seeing cutting about resembling a functioning alcoholic ground worker always puts,a smile on my face so at least I'd have that
Not Lampard in by any means but by the time he joined Everton the rot had well and truly set in.

wtf makes anyone think Lampard is a good idea!
Did well at Derby, managed Chelsea to a top 4 position whilst under a transfer embargo bringing through Mount, James and Gallagher. And kept Everton up in 2022.

would instantly command respect from our players given his reputation and status within the game.

Hes been linked with high profile jobs such as Roma and Rangers this summer - so would suggest his standing within the game is pretty decent. He isn’t my first choice but he isn’t as bad as some make out.

Listen to Simon Jordan talking about the links to Roma.

But what makes him a bad idea? This isn’t a Wayne Rooney appointment. The guy has reached play off final, top 4 in the prem, fa cup final, champions league, saved Everton from relegation?
Also co-won the CL!! Without navigating group stage tichel can't finish the job

It was really baffling that after two fabulous wins, we suddenly couldn't even string two passes together and seemed very flat

Was expecting us to come out buzzing
It’s the profile of team we were playing. We’ve just not been able to break down defensively disciplined teams for a while now. It was there to see last season and continued this one.

Interestingly - Lampard fell out with the recruitment director at Chelsea - Marina Granovskaia

but looking into him - he’s used to working within a similar structure we operate and is a big supporter of the data driven ways

he’s brought through a fair few youngsters aswell

Lampard’s odds have massively shortened this evening

Tbh out of all the names mentioned I’m leaning to taking a punt on him
Great. After 7 years of stability and some success, we are going for a punt?

That's not aimed at you by the way.

I just think we have to get this right. If not, we could be in big trouble.

It's not the time to gamble.

He fell out with the recruitment director and half the squad.

I wanted Mark Robins to stay for the exact reason we are going on about now where nobody can come up with a decent alternative that isn’t totally unrealistic (e.g. potter/Moyes), a complete failure (e.g. Lampard, Carsley) or completely unproven (e.g. Bloomfield, Sheehan)
I can’t remember getting too excited when robins came in,for the 1st or 2nd time, def changed that

I left on Wednesday with the distinct impression the players didn't want to play for Mark Robins anymore.
I don’t agree, not after the performance against Middlesborough and Luton.

The loss at Derby wasn’t a one off and pretty much all of our losses have come the same same way.

I hate to say it, something is amiss with our tactical approach to the game, we look like England in the Euros without the superstar quality.

He would certainly command respect in the dressing room but I have concerns about him walking into something that needs a great deal of care to put right.

I don't see Lampard coming in as a Head Coach on his tod, either. Just seems like a d*ckhead. Don't want a d*ckhead.
