He would be a great appointment but totally unrealistic. Who would you appoint Chris? Please no.

Tell you the truth I think it’s because we’ve historically been poor at breaking down the 10 menIt was really baffling that after two fabulous wins, we suddenly couldn't even string two passes together and seemed very flat
Was expecting us to come out buzzing
Maybe.I left on Wednesday with the distinct impression the players didn't want to play for Mark Robins anymore.
Tempted because he’s thick and knows fuck all about football?
OK. Firstly Potter. My son is a Chelsea ST holder and with him I saw quite a few games when I wasn't watching Cov. He was very rigid with tactics and always reacted too slowly to change things. Opposition coaches knew exactly how he was going to set up his side and counteracted it from the start . Potter did nothing to react. However the one night he got it bang on was away to AC Milan in The San Siro which we both went to = amazing night ( bucket list ground). He would be a great appointment but totally unrealistic. Who would you appoint Chris?
Performance Director interview in the CETPre season was really positive, a lot of people were gushing after the Everton game.
I don’t believe that there would have been a solution this time in any case unfortunately, I guess we will never know now.
I don’t think Doug is thickTempted because he’s thick and knows fuck all about football?
Fans forget that no Chairmen (inc. Doug King) or boards know any more about football than most fans (aside from a few bellends on here who have no fcuking clue). They may be business people but unless you study it and get UEFA/FIFA qualifications, or have benefits of having years of experience, then they are just the same level as fans really... which is bit of a scary thought. I'm desperately hoping he takes advice from more people in the know and his experienced staff around him rather than take a punt on someone. Manager has got to suit working with these young developing players with low confidence who need a bit of TLC and a system that fits these players. We cannot afford to rebuild and restructure the squad like the dirty Manc reds.tbf if we'd announced the new bloke at the same time that wouldn't have been a great look, would it?
Maybe there's a bit of dignity in letting MR go before we're too far down the road with someone else.
and let's not pretend many (if any) of us know who the good candidates are for the role we want to fill.
Apply the same thinking to this as to our signings. No one knew of MVE or Haji, or Hamer, or Vik, etc.
Pretty unlikely any of us are gonna have an informed opinion re: whether who we try to get is a good fit.

I would, like to know who has advised Doug on getting rid of MR and search for new manager. Also who is on the Board! Club website says its just Doug as Executive Chairman.
I think Doug has very high aspirations for a replacement and it would be incredulous if he/they have sacked MR without a person in place that is willing to come. I wouldn't be surprised if Carsley, Potter or Moyes have been spoken to. If he goes for a big name ex player with no experience or crappy older manager then I think we will be in huge trouble with Doug at the Helm.
Agreed, we are bigger than a lot give us credit for.As much as we won’t admit it- we are a VERY attractive proposition for an out of work, or in work manager
Spent significant funds recently
fan base to support a PL team
one team city
good stadium
I would expect some really high profile names (more so than the current bookies list) to apply for the job
When was the decision made and how do you know that ?It is not carsley as the decision was made whilst he was still hopeful of the England job
If only we had a performance director to ensure optimal fitness and performance on the game day.Agreed I think the difference this year was there wasn’t a great sign of performances improving unlike previous years. Previous seasons they kind of hit form and off they went. This season every time we’ve got a result we’ve stumbled again and put on a performance where the players just haven’t looked at it. You knew on weds within 10 mins we looked in trouble just not up for it. That’s been the worrying thing.
It's not going to be the likes of Potter or Moyes, whatever their merits or not . Their salaries would be way to high for the club to afford. I doubt they have aspirations to manage in the Championship anyway.Fans forget that no Chairmen (inc. I agree that all roles need to be looked at and whether they are performing as they should be. That’s goes for head scout and recruitment department as well. Clearly he thinks for now changing the head coach is enough I’m not so sure time will tell.If only we had a performance director to ensure optimal fitness and performance on the game day.
At least the food would improve at the CBSI'd have Gordon Ramsey in
Didn't Potter turn down Ajax some people are delusional. It's not going to be the likes of Potter or Moyes, whatever their merits or not . Their salaries would be way to high for the club to afford. I doubt they have aspirations to manage in the Championship anyway.
See aboveI think King has to get this right. If we start going further backwards, it could turn very toxic very quickly.
He once sat next to me in block 20 scouting the game. He was at Wolves at the time. I can't remember what game it was.
Someone in Twitter with decent links saying they think it’ll be Lee carlsey and won’t be Mark Bloomfield
Wasn't actually that good as a manager was he .
Lee Carsley would be the cheapest option for Doug King, no buyout of contracts, compensation.
Surely a new coach will want new players in, will he have a say though, I can't work out who will be looking for targets, King, recruitment or the Head coach.
He must be on a decent salary with England?
His plan was always to go back to the U21s - that job is still very much his should he want itWell yes but he's also going to be out of work soon, unless he wants to go back to the under 21s!
Think he’s got the U21s if he wants it. Don’t think it’ll be as cheap as you would think due to the salary and I would assume coaches salariesWell yes but he's also going to be out of work soon, unless he wants to go back to the under 21s!
I think Roy Keane is hilarious to be fair, so witty and has perfect comedy timing.
Not sure about as our manager though.
You were actually the first moron on here to call for Robins to be sacked - going back over 3 years. Given that level of genius personal preference that you shut the fcuk up for once. The majority of our fans wanted Andy Thorn as manager back in the day Charles as he gave a cheery wave every game
